Setup

  1. Power Connection: Connect an 8-12V DC power adapter (not included) to the DC power input port on the rear of the device. Ensure the adapter provides at least 1A.
  2. Output Connection: Connect the RF OUT port to your testing equipment (e.g., spectrum analyzer, frequency counter, interphone) using an appropriate BNC cable.
  3. Power On: The device will power on automatically once connected to a power source.

Operating Instructions

The signal generator allows for precise control over frequency, signal strength, and modulation.

Setting Frequency:

  1. Press F1 repeatedly until the frequency setting is selected on the display.
  2. Use the numeric keypad to directly input the desired frequency. For example, to set 439.0125MHz, input 4, 3, 9, 0, 1, 2, 5. The display will show 4390125.
  3. Alternatively, use the Up (∧) and Down (∨) keys to adjust the frequency incrementally.
  4. If an input error occurs, press F2 (Backspace) to correct it.

Setting Signal Strength:

The output signal strength can be set from -70dBm to -132dBm.

  1. Press F1 until the signal strength setting is selected.
  2. Use the numeric keypad or Up (∧) and Down (∨) keys to set the desired dBm value.

Enabling/Disabling Signal Output:

  • Press F3 to toggle the signal output ON or OFF.

Enabling/Disabling Modulation:

The device has a built-in 800Hz modulation for FM mode.

  • Press F4 to toggle the signal modulation ON or OFF.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the device. Do not use liquid cleaners or solvents.
  • Storage: Store the device in a cool, dry place when not in use.
  • Inspection: Periodically inspect cables and connectors for any signs of wear or damage.

Troubleshooting

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Device does not power on.Incorrect power supply voltage or current; faulty power adapter; loose connection.Ensure power supply is 8-12V DC and provides at least 1A. Check power adapter functionality and connections.
No RF output signal.Signal output is OFF (F3); incorrect frequency/strength settings; faulty output cable.Press F3 to ensure signal output is ON. Verify frequency and signal strength settings. Check BNC cable connection and integrity.
Display shows incorrect values or errors.Input error; internal malfunction.Use F2 to clear input and re-enter values. If problem persists, contact support.
