4. Setup & Installation

Proper installation is crucial for the optimal performance and safety of your AlienRider M2PRO-204 system. It is recommended that installation be performed by a qualified technician.

4.1 Component Placement

  • Host Unit: Mount the M2PRO host unit securely on your motorcycle's handlebars or dashboard using the provided mounting hardware. Ensure it is in a position that offers clear visibility without obstructing your view of the road or controls.
  • Cameras: Install the front and rear cameras in locations that provide an unobstructed view. The cameras are designed for easy mounting with adhesive or screws.
  • Radar Unit: The 77G mmWave radar unit should be mounted at the rear of the motorcycle, ensuring it has a clear line of sight to detect vehicles in your blind spots.
  • Wired Controller: Attach the wired controller to a convenient location on your handlebars for easy access to system functions while riding.

4.2 Wiring Connections

Connect all components to the M2PRO host unit using the provided waterproof cables. Ensure all connections are secure and properly routed to avoid interference or damage.

  • Connect the front camera cable to the designated port on the host unit.
  • Connect the rear camera cable to its respective port.
  • Connect the radar unit cable.
  • Connect the wired controller cable.
  • Connect the power cable to your motorcycle's power source (typically the battery, ensuring proper fuse protection).

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Powering On/Off

The system will typically power on automatically with your motorcycle's ignition. To manually power off, press and hold the power button on the host unit or wired controller.

5.2 Wireless CarPlay / Android Auto

  1. Ensure Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are enabled on your smartphone.
  2. On the M2PRO display, navigate to the CarPlay or Android Auto icon and select it.
  3. Follow the on-screen prompts to pair your smartphone via Bluetooth.
  4. Once paired, the system will automatically connect to CarPlay or Android Auto for navigation, music, and communication.

5.3 Dashcam Operation

  • The dashcam automatically begins recording when the system powers on.
  • Video is recorded in 1080P resolution with starlight-level night vision.
  • Loop recording ensures continuous footage by overwriting the oldest files when storage is full.
  • The G-Sensor detects sudden impacts or braking, automatically locking and saving incident footage to prevent overwriting.
  • Access recorded videos and settings through the host unit's touchscreen interface.

5.4 Blind Spot Detection (BSD)

  • The 77G mmWave radar continuously monitors your motorcycle's rear and side blind spots.
  • Level-1 Warning: A visual alert (e.g., yellow pop-up) appears on the display when a vehicle approaches from a relatively long distance in your blind spot.
  • Level-2 Warning: A more prominent visual alert (e.g., red pop-up, switch to rear view) is triggered when a target vehicle approaches quickly at a relatively close distance, indicating a potential collision risk.

6. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, damp cloth to clean the display and camera lenses. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents. The device is IP68 waterproof, but avoid high-pressure water jets directly on connections.
  • Firmware Updates: Periodically check the AlienRider website or app for firmware updates to ensure optimal performance and access to new features.
  • Cable Inspection: Regularly inspect all cables and connections for signs of wear, fraying, or damage. Ensure waterproof connectors are tightly screwed.
  • Storage: If storing the motorcycle for an extended period, ensure the system is powered off and, if possible, disconnect from the battery to prevent drain.

7. Troubleshooting

  • System Not Powering On: Check all power connections, especially the battery terminals and fuse. Ensure the motorcycle's ignition is on.
  • No CarPlay/Android Auto Connection: Verify Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are active on your phone and the M2PRO. Ensure your phone is paired correctly. Try restarting both devices.
  • Camera Feed Issues: Check camera cable connections. Ensure lenses are clean and unobstructed.
  • Radar Warnings Not Functioning: Verify the radar unit is correctly installed and has a clear view. Check system settings for BSD activation.
  • Display Not Responding: Try restarting the host unit. If unresponsive, contact customer support.
