1. Introduction

The HIT BOX ULTRA is a high-performance leverless arcade controller designed for precision input in fighting games and other competitive titles. This manual provides essential information for setting up, operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting your device. It is compatible with PlayStation 5, Windows, and Nintendo Switch platforms.

3. Setup

3.1 Connecting to Your System

1. Identify the USB Port: Locate an available USB-A port on your PlayStation 5 console, Windows PC, or Nintendo Switch dock.
2. Connect the Cable: Insert the USB-C end of the provided cable into the port on the back of the HIT BOX ULTRA controller.
3. Connect to System: Insert the USB-A end of the cable into the USB-A port on your chosen gaming system.
4. System Recognition: Your system should automatically detect the HIT BOX ULTRA. For Windows, drivers may install automatically. If not, ensure your operating system is up to date.

3.2 Platform Compatibility

• PlayStation 5: Connect directly to any available USB port.
• Windows PC: Connect directly to any available USB port. The system will typically install necessary drivers automatically.
• Nintendo Switch: Connect to the USB port on the Nintendo Switch dock. Ensure "Pro Controller Wired Communication" is enabled in the Switch system settings.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Button Layout Overview

The HIT BOX ULTRA features a standard leverless button configuration, replacing the traditional joystick with directional buttons for precise movement control.

• Directional Buttons: Located on the left side, these buttons control Up, Down, Left, and Right movements. The large button at the bottom is typically for "Up" input.
• Action Buttons: Arranged on the right side, these buttons correspond to standard fighting game inputs (e.g., Light Punch, Medium Punch, Heavy Punch, Light Kick, etc.).
• System Buttons: Additional buttons for functions like Start, Select/Share, Home, and Turbo are located along the top or side edges of the controller.

4.2 Special Features

• Precision Input: The leverless design allows for extremely fast and accurate directional inputs, beneficial for complex fighting game techniques.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Cleaning

• Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe down the surface of the controller.
• For stubborn smudges, lightly dampen the cloth with water or a mild, non-abrasive cleaner. Avoid excessive moisture.
• Do not use harsh chemicals, solvents, or abrasive materials, as these can damage the finish and buttons.

5.2 Button Replacement/Modification

The HIT BOX ULTRA is designed for user-friendly button modification. The top panel is secured with screws, allowing access to the internal components for button swaps.

1. Power Off and Disconnect: Ensure the controller is disconnected from all power sources and gaming systems.
2. Access Internal Components: Carefully unscrew the fasteners securing the bottom panel of the controller. Lift the panel to expose the wiring and button mechanisms.
3. Remove Old Button: Disconnect the wires from the button you wish to replace. Gently press the tabs on the side of the button to release it from its housing.
4. Install New Button: Insert the new button into the housing until it clicks into place. Reconnect the wires to the new button, ensuring correct polarity if applicable.
5. Reassemble: Carefully reattach the bottom panel and secure it with the fasteners.

Caution: Exercise care when handling internal components to avoid damage. If you are unsure about any step, seek professional assistance.

6. Troubleshooting

• Controller Not Recognized:
  • Ensure the USB cable is securely connected to both the controller and the gaming system.
  • Try a different USB port on your system.
  • For Nintendo Switch, verify "Pro Controller Wired Communication" is enabled in system settings.
  • Restart your gaming system.
• Buttons Not Responding:
  • Check for any physical obstructions around the buttons.
  • If a specific button is unresponsive, it may require cleaning or replacement (refer to Section 5.2).
  • Test the controller on another system to rule out system-specific issues.
• Intermittent Connection:
  • Ensure the USB cable is not damaged. Try using a different, high-quality USB-C cable if available.
  • Avoid placing the controller near strong electromagnetic interference sources.
