1. Introduction

This manual provides essential instructions for the safe assembly, use, and maintenance of your Storkcraft Morningside 5-in-1 Convertible Crib. Please read all instructions carefully before assembly and keep this manual for future reference. This crib is designed to convert into a toddler bed, daybed, and full-size bed, adapting to your child's growth.

The Storkcraft Morningside crib is crafted from solid New Zealand pine wood and is GREENGUARD Gold Certified, ensuring low chemical emissions for a healthier indoor environment. It is also JPMA Certified, meeting or exceeding all applicable safety standards.

2. Safety Information

WARNING: Failure to follow these warnings and the assembly instructions could result in serious injury or death.

  • Read all instructions before using the crib. Keep instructions for future use.
  • Do not use this crib if you cannot exactly follow the accompanying instructions.
  • Check this product for damaged hardware, loose joints, missing parts, or sharp edges before and after assembly and frequently during use.
  • Do not use the crib if any parts are missing, damaged, or broken. Contact Storkcraft Customer Care for replacement parts. Do not substitute parts.
  • Do not use a water mattress with this crib.
  • Infants can suffocate on soft bedding. Never add a pillow or comforter. Never place additional padding under an infant.
  • To reduce the risk of SIDS, pediatricians recommend healthy infants be placed on their backs to sleep, unless otherwise advised by your physician.
  • Strings and cords can cause strangulation. Never place items with a string or cord around a child's neck, such as hood strings or pacifier cords. Never suspend strings over a crib or attach strings to toys.
  • Keep the crib away from windows, blinds, and draperies to prevent strangulation from cords.
  • When a child is able to pull to a standing position, set the mattress to the lowest position.
  • When a child is able to climb out, the crib shall no longer be used for that child.

4. Setup and Assembly Instructions

Assembly typically takes 30 minutes or less with two people. Follow the step-by-step diagrams provided in the included assembly guide. Ensure all connections are secure before use.

General Assembly Steps:

  1. Unpack all components and verify against the parts list.
  2. Attach the side rails to the headboard and footboard using the provided hardware. Do not overtighten.
  3. Install the mattress support. Ensure it is set to the desired height. There are four adjustable mattress heights.
  4. Tighten all hardware securely. Periodically check and retighten hardware as needed.

5. Operating and Conversions

The Storkcraft Morningside crib offers five conversion options to grow with your child.

5.1. Baby Crib Mode

Use as a standard baby crib. Ensure the mattress support is adjusted to the appropriate height for your child's developmental stage. Always use a standard crib mattress (sold separately) that fits snugly without gaps.

5.2. Toddler Bed Mode

When your child is ready to transition from a crib, typically when they can climb out, convert the crib to a toddler bed. This requires the purchase of a compatible Storkcraft Toddler Safety Guardrail Kit (sold separately).

5.3. Daybed Mode

The crib can also be converted into a daybed. This configuration typically involves removing the front rail of the crib, providing an open side for easy access while maintaining the back and side rails.

5.4. Full-Size Bed Mode (Headboard Only or Headboard & Footboard)

For conversion to a full-size bed, a compatible Storkcraft Crib-to-Bed Conversion Kit (sold separately) is required. This allows the headboard and/or footboard to be used with a standard full-size bed frame.

6. Maintenance and Care

Proper care ensures the longevity and safety of your crib.

  • Cleaning: Wipe surfaces with a damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or strong chemicals that could damage the finish.
  • Inspections: Regularly check all screws, bolts, and other hardware to ensure they are tight and secure. Retighten as necessary.
  • Storage: If storing the crib, do so in a dry, temperature-controlled environment to prevent warping or damage to the wood.
