5. Maintenance
5.1 Cleaning the Print Head
If labels are printing unclearly or a blank horizontal line appears, there may be dust on the print head. To clean:
- Turn off the label maker and remove the tape cassette.
- Dip a cotton swab in a little alcohol and gently wipe the print head with an up-and-down motion.
- Wait until the alcohol evaporates and the print head is dry before reinserting the tape and testing.
Tips: Do not scratch the print head with a hard object, otherwise the print head will be damaged and the printing effect may be compromised.
5.2 Replacing the Cutter Holder
If the label tape cannot be cut neatly after continuous use, the cutter may be dull and needs replacement:
- Open the back cover of the label maker.
- Remove the tape cassette.
- Carefully take out the old cutter holder.
- Insert a new cutter holder into the label maker as instructed.
- Reinstall the tape and close the back cover.
Video 5: Provides fault resolution and tips, including cleaning the print head and replacing the cutter holder.
6. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your Vixic D210S Label Maker, please refer to the common problems and solutions below:
- Too Much Blank Space: Adjust the margin settings to 'Narrow' in the menu to reduce blank space on labels.
- Cursor Runs to the Top: After printing a label, the cursor automatically returns to the beginning of the text. This is normal behavior.
- Tape Jam: Ensure the end of the tape feeds correctly under the tape guides. Do not touch the cutter lever while printing.
- Cutter Cannot Work: If the screen shows "Cutter Error!", it means the cutter has been working while printing. Do not press the cutter button before a reminder to cut appears on the screen. If the cutter is dull, replace the cutter holder (see Maintenance section).
- Print Unclearly: This can be caused by a low battery or dust on the print head. Replace weak batteries or clean the print head (see Maintenance section).
- Failed to Turn On: Ensure the power key is pressed and held for 2-3 seconds. Check that batteries are correctly inserted and are not weak; replace if necessary. If using the USB-C cable, make sure it is connected correctly and the power source is active. If the outdoor temperature is too cold, leave the device in a warm environment for about an hour before attempting to turn it on.
- Colons or Prefix on Label: If the cutter is not turned on, the labeler will print colons as markers to facilitate manual cutting. When you turn on the cutter function, the colons on the label will disappear.
