4. Setup

Charging the Device

The KIPRIM DR120 is equipped with a built-in rechargeable Lithium-ion Polymer battery. Before first use, fully charge the device.

  • Connect the provided USB-C charging cable to the Type-C charging port (11) on the device.
  • Connect the other end of the cable to a standard USB power adapter (not included) or a computer's USB port.
  • The battery indicator on the display will show charging status. A full charge typically takes approximately 1.5 hours.
  • A full charge provides approximately 8000 measurements or 4 hours of continuous operation.

Power On/Off

  • To power on the device, press the Power On / Measure Button (14).
  • To power off the device, press and hold the Clear (Back) / Power Off Button (9) for a few seconds. The device will also automatically power off after a period of inactivity to conserve battery.

5. Operating Instructions

Unit Conversion

Press the Unit / Mute Button (17) repeatedly to cycle through measurement units: meters (m), feet (ft), and inches (in).

Reference Point Selection

The device can measure from different reference points (front, rear, or tripod mount). Press the Reference Point Selection Button (15) to change the measurement origin. The current reference point is indicated on the display.

Measurement Modes

The KIPRIM DR120 supports multiple measurement modes. Press the Function / Record Button (16) to cycle through the available modes:

  • Single Measurement: Press the Power On / Measure Button (14) once to activate the laser, then press again to take a single measurement.
  • Continuous Measurement: From single measurement mode, press and hold the Power On / Measure Button (14) to enter continuous measurement. The device will continuously measure and display the maximum and minimum values. Press again to exit.
  • Area Measurement: Press the Function / Record Button (16) until the area icon (rectangle) appears. Take two consecutive measurements (length and width). The device will automatically calculate and display the area.
  • Volume Measurement: Press the Function / Record Button (16) until the volume icon (cube) appears. Take three consecutive measurements (length, width, and height). The device will automatically calculate and display the volume.
  • Pythagorean Measurement: Press the Function / Record Button (16) to select one of the Pythagorean modes (e.g., indirect height measurement). Follow the on-screen prompts to take the required measurements (e.g., hypotenuse and one leg) to calculate the unknown side.

Vertical Laser Line

The vertical laser line assists in positioning shelves, pictures, and other decorative elements. It facilitates alignment without manual markings, improving positioning accuracy.

  • Press the Laser Marking Line Power On/Off Button (12) to activate the vertical laser line.
  • Use the line for precise alignment on walls or other surfaces.

Electronic Level

The integrated electronic level detects angles in real-time, ensuring correct alignment for tiles, suspensions, and home construction work.

  • The device automatically displays the current angle on the screen.
  • Use this feature to verify horizontal or vertical alignment.

Dual Bidirectional Laser
