  • Chin Strap: Always fasten the chin strap securely before riding.
  • Visibility: Ensure your visor and sunshield are clean and free from obstructions for optimal visibility.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Wearing the Helmet

Place the helmet on your head, ensuring it sits level and comfortably. The cheek pads should fit snugly against your cheeks. Fasten the chin strap securely, ensuring it is neither too tight nor too loose.

4.2 Adjusting Ventilation

The HJC i91 features an Advanced Channeling Ventilation System (ACS). Operate the front intake vents and rear exhaust vents to control airflow through the helmet, efficiently expelling hot air and maintaining comfort.

4.3 Using the Sunshield

The integrated dark smoke sunshield can be deployed or retracted using the lever on the side of the helmet. Adjust it to your preferred position to reduce glare from sunlight and ensure high visibility.

4.4 Reducing Visor Fogging

To help prevent visor fogging, the helmet directs airflow from the lower intake near the mouth to the inside of the shield. For enhanced anti-fog performance, ensure the anti-fog lens (if included) is properly installed and maintained.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Cleaning the Helmet Shell

Clean the helmet shell with mild soap and warm water. Use a soft cloth to gently wipe the surface. Avoid harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners, or solvents, as these can damage the finish and shell material.

5.2 Cleaning the Visor and Sunshield

Clean the visor and sunshield with a soft, damp cloth and mild soap. Rinse thoroughly with clean water and air dry. Do not use abrasive materials or chemical cleaners that can scratch or damage the coatings. If an anti-fog lens is installed, follow its specific cleaning instructions.

5.3 Liner Removal and Washing

The interior lining of the HJC i91 is removable for cleaning. Carefully detach the cheek pads and crown liner. Hand wash with mild soap and cold water, then air dry completely before re-installing. Ensure all components are dry to prevent mildew.

5.4 Ventilation System Cleaning

Periodically check the ventilation openings for any debris or blockages. Use a soft brush or compressed air to clear the vents, ensuring optimal airflow.

5.5 Storage

Store your helmet in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Use a helmet bag to protect it from scratches and dust.

6. Troubleshooting

  • Visor Fogging: Ensure the anti-fog lens is clean and properly installed. Maximize airflow by opening the chin vent. Consider using an anti-fog spray.
  • Loose Components: If any parts feel loose, such as the visor or chin bar mechanism, inspect them for proper seating. Do not attempt to force or over-tighten. Contact customer support if issues persist.
  • Excessive Wind Noise: Ensure the helmet is properly sized and fitted. Check that the visor and chin bar are fully closed and sealed.
