5. Setup and Installation
Follow these steps to set up your Minetom Solar Outdoor Lights:
5.1 Solar Panel Placement
- Choose a Location: Select an outdoor location for the solar panel that receives at least 6-8 hours of direct sunlight daily. Avoid shaded areas from trees, buildings, or other obstructions.
- Mounting Options:
- Ground Stake: Attach the ground stake to the solar panel bracket and firmly insert it into the ground. Adjust the angle of the solar panel to face the sun directly.
- Wall Mount: Use the provided screws and wall anchors to secure the mounting clip to a wall or fence. Attach the solar panel to the clip and adjust its angle.
- Clip Mount: Use the provided clip to attach the solar panel to a railing, fence, or other suitable surface.
5.2 String Light Arrangement
- Uncoil the Lights: Carefully uncoil the string lights, ensuring no tangles or knots.
- Connect to Solar Panel: Plug the string light connector into the designated port on the solar panel.
- Position the Lights: Hang the string lights in your desired outdoor area (e.g., patio, deck, garden, pergola). Use the integrated hanging loops on each bulb socket for easy installation with hooks, nails, or guide wires.
- Secure the Lights: Use the provided cable ties or other suitable fasteners to secure the string lights, preventing them from swaying excessively in the wind.
- Note on Connectivity: This 108FT string light set is designed as a single unit and is not connectable to other string light sets.

Figure 5.1: This visual guide showcases the versatile installation options for the solar panel: using a ground stake for garden placement, mounting it on a wall, or attaching it with a clip to a railing or fence, ensuring optimal sun exposure.

6. Operating Instructions
Your Minetom Solar Outdoor Lights are designed for simple, automatic operation.
6.1 Automatic Operation
- Once the solar panel is exposed to sunlight, it will begin charging the internal battery.
- The integrated light sensor will automatically turn the lights ON at dusk and OFF at dawn.
- Ensure the solar panel is not obstructed by other light sources at night, as this may prevent the lights from turning on.
6.2 Charging Options
- Solar Charging: The primary charging method. Position the solar panel to receive maximum direct sunlight for optimal performance. A full charge typically provides over 10 hours of illumination.
- USB Charging: In periods of limited sunlight (e.g., prolonged cloudy weather, winter), you can charge the solar panel's internal battery using the provided USB Type-C cable. Connect the cable to the solar panel's USB port and a standard USB power adapter (not included).

Figure 6.2: This image demonstrates the dual charging capabilities of the Minetom solar lights. On the left, the solar panel is shown absorbing sunlight for energy. On the right, the panel is connected via USB to a power outlet, providing an alternative charging method for cloudy days or when direct sunlight is limited.
7. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity of your solar lights.
- Clean Solar Panel: Periodically wipe the solar panel surface with a soft, damp cloth to remove dust, dirt, leaves, or snow. A clean panel ensures maximum sunlight absorption and charging efficiency.
- Bulb Care: While the G40 bulbs are shatterproof, inspect them occasionally for any damage. If a bulb needs replacement, use a compatible G40 LED bulb.
- Cable Inspection: Check the string light cable and connections periodically for any signs of wear, fraying, or damage. Ensure all connections remain secure.
- Winter Storage: If storing the lights for an extended period, especially during winter in harsh climates, ensure the battery is fully charged. Store in a cool, dry place.
8. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your Minetom Solar Outdoor Lights, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Lights do not turn on at night. | Solar panel not receiving enough sunlight. | Relocate the solar panel to an area with 6-8 hours of direct sunlight. Clean the solar panel surface. |
| Solar panel is detecting ambient light. | Ensure the solar panel is not near other light sources (e.g., streetlights, porch lights) that might prevent the light sensor from activating. | |
| Battery is not charged or low. | Allow the solar panel to charge for at least 1-2 full sunny days. If persistent, try USB charging. | |
| Lights are dim or only stay on for a short time. | Insufficient charging. | Ensure the solar panel is clean and receives maximum direct sunlight. Consider USB charging if solar conditions are poor. |
| Aging battery. | Over time, rechargeable batteries may lose capacity. If the product is old, battery replacement might be necessary (consult manufacturer). | |
| Individual bulbs are not lighting up. | Damaged or loose bulb. | Gently check if the bulb is securely seated. Replace with a spare G40 LED bulb if damaged. |
| Water inside the bulb. | Seal integrity compromised. | While bulbs are IP44, extreme conditions or damage can lead to water ingress. Replace the affected bulb. |
