5. Setup
5.1 Charging the Battery
Before initial use, fully charge the camera's built-in battery using the provided USB cable and a 5V/2A power adapter (not included). The charging indicator light will turn solid when fully charged.
5.2 Installing a Micro SD Card (Optional)
- Locate the rubber cover on the back of the camera (refer to Figure 4.4).
- Carefully open the cover.
- Insert a Micro SD card (Class 10 or higher, up to 128GB) into the slot with the gold contacts facing down until it clicks into place.
- Close the rubber cover firmly to ensure water resistance.
5.3 App Download and Account Registration
Download the official "CloudEdge" or "Tuya Smart" app from your smartphone's app store (iOS App Store or Google Play Store). Register for an account and log in.
5.4 Pairing the Camera with the App
- Power on the camera. Wait for the indicator light to flash red, indicating it's ready for pairing. If not flashing, press and hold the reset button (next to the SD card slot) for 5 seconds until it flashes.
- Open the app, tap "+" to add a device, and select "Smart Camera" or "Security Camera (Wi-Fi)".
- Follow the on-screen instructions to connect to your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network. Note: 5GHz Wi-Fi is not supported.
- The app will generate a QR code. Hold your phone's screen approximately 15-20 cm (6-8 inches) in front of the camera lens until you hear a "beep" sound.
- Once connected, the indicator light will turn solid blue. The camera will appear in your app's device list.
5.5 Mounting the Camera and Solar Panel
Choose a mounting location that provides a clear view of the area you wish to monitor and receives ample direct sunlight for the solar panel.
- Mark Drilling Points: Use the mounting bracket as a template to mark the screw holes on the wall or surface.
- Drill Holes: Drill holes at the marked positions and insert wall plugs if mounting on masonry.
- Attach Brackets: Securely fasten the camera and solar panel mounting brackets to the surface using the provided screws.
- Mount Camera and Solar Panel: Attach the camera and solar panel to their respective brackets.
- Adjust Solar Panel: Angle the solar panel to maximize sun exposure throughout the day.
- Connect Solar Panel: Plug the solar panel's cable into the camera's charging port.
6. Operating the Camera
6.1 Live View and Pan/Tilt Control
Open the app and select your camera from the device list to access the live view. Use the on-screen joystick or swipe gestures to control the camera's pan (horizontal) and tilt (vertical) movements.
6.2 Two-Way Audio
In the live view, tap the microphone icon to speak through the camera's speaker. Tap the speaker icon to listen to audio from the camera's microphone.
6.3 Motion Detection and Alerts
The camera features sensitive motion detection with AI capabilities to reduce false alarms. When motion is detected, the camera will:
- Send an instant push notification to your smartphone.
- Begin recording video footage (to Micro SD card or cloud storage).
Adjust motion detection sensitivity and set detection zones within the app's settings.
6.4 Playback and Storage
Access recorded footage through the app's "Playback" or "History" section. You can view recordings stored on the Micro SD card or in the cloud (if subscribed to a cloud plan).
6.5 Night Vision
The camera automatically switches to infrared night vision in low-light conditions, providing clear black-and-white video up to a certain range.
6.6 Smart Home Integration (Alexa & Google Home)
To integrate with Amazon Alexa or Google Home:
- Open the Alexa or Google Home app.

- Link your CloudEdge/Tuya Smart account.
