1. Introduction
Thank you for choosing the Wiltec Portable Gas Heater. This manual provides essential information for the safe and efficient operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of your new heater. Please read all instructions carefully before use and retain this manual for future reference.
This heater is designed for indoor use, providing adjustable heat with three power levels (1.4 kW, 2.8 kW, and 4.2 kW). It operates with LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas), including butane and propane, and features integrated wheels for easy mobility, piezoelectric ignition, and advanced safety systems.
2. Important Safety Instructions
Failure to follow these safety instructions can result in fire, explosion, carbon monoxide poisoning, property damage, personal injury, or death.
- Indoor Use Only: This appliance is designed exclusively for indoor use in well-ventilated areas. Do not use outdoors or in bathrooms, bedrooms, or recreational vehicles.
- Ventilation: Ensure adequate ventilation when the heater is in operation. Do not use in unventilated spaces.
- Gas Type: Use only butane or propane gas as specified. Do not use natural gas or any other fuel.
- Gas Leaks: Before each use and after changing the gas cylinder, check all gas connections for leaks using a soapy water solution. Never use an open flame to check for leaks. If you smell gas, immediately turn off the gas supply, ventilate the area, and do not operate the heater or any electrical switches.
- Clearance: Maintain a safe distance from flammable materials (curtains, furniture, paper, etc.). Do not place objects on or near the heater.
- Stability: Always place the heater on a firm, level surface. The integrated anti-tip system will automatically shut off the gas supply if the heater is accidentally knocked over.
- Oxygen Depletion Sensor (ODS): The heater is equipped with an ODS system that will automatically shut off the heater if oxygen levels in the room become too low. If this occurs, ventilate the area immediately and do not restart the heater until the cause has been identified and corrected.
- Flame Supervision Device (DSL): This device ensures that gas flow is cut off if the flame extinguishes.
- Moving the Heater: Do not move the heater while it is operating or hot. Allow it to cool down completely before relocating.
- Children and Pets: Keep children and pets away from the heater. The surfaces become hot during operation.
- Maintenance: Do not attempt to repair or modify the heater yourself. Refer all servicing to qualified personnel.
- Gas Cylinder: Always store gas cylinders in a well-ventilated area, away from heat sources and direct sunlight.
3. Package Contents
Upon unpacking, please ensure all components are present and undamaged:
- Wiltec Portable Gas Heater (Model 65067)
- Instruction Manual
Note: The gas hose and pressure regulator are not included and must be purchased separately. Ensure they are compatible with your gas cylinder and local regulations.
4. Setup
- Unpacking: Carefully remove the heater from its packaging. Inspect for any damage incurred during transit.
- Positioning: Place the heater on a stable, level surface in the desired indoor location. Ensure there is adequate ventilation and maintain safe distances from walls and flammable objects.
- Gas Cylinder Installation:

Image: Product dimensions and internal gas cylinder placement. The heater measures 420mm (depth) x 450mm (width) x 757mm (height). It can accommodate a gas cylinder with a maximum load capacity of 13 kg.
- Open the rear panel of the heater.
- Carefully place the gas cylinder (butane or propane, max 13 kg) into the designated compartment.
- Connect the gas hose (not included) to the gas cylinder valve and then to the heater's gas inlet. Ensure all connections are tight and secure.
- Attach the pressure regulator (not included) to the gas cylinder valve according to its instructions.
- Perform a leak test: Apply a soapy water solution to all gas connections. If bubbles appear, there is a leak. Tighten connections or replace faulty parts. Do not use the heater if a leak is detected.
- Close the rear panel.
5. Operating Instructions
- Open Gas Supply: Slowly open the valve on the gas cylinder.
- Ignition:

- Press and hold the control knob down.
- While holding the knob, press the piezoelectric ignition button repeatedly until the pilot flame ignites.
- Continue to hold the control knob down for approximately 10-20 seconds after ignition to allow the thermocouple to heat up and activate the flame supervision device.
- Release the control knob. If the flame goes out, repeat the ignition process.
- Adjusting Heat Output:

Image: Three heat levels (1400W, 2800W, 4200W) indicated by the glowing heating elements.
- Rotate the control knob to select one of the three power levels: 1.4 kW (low), 2.8 kW (medium), or 4.2 kW (high).
- Turning Off:
- Rotate the control knob to the 'OFF' position.
- Close the valve on the gas cylinder.
6. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and safe operation of your heater.
- Cleaning:
- Ensure the heater is completely cool and the gas supply is turned off before cleaning.
- Wipe the exterior surfaces with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Keep the air inlets and outlets clear of dust and debris. Use a soft brush or vacuum cleaner to gently remove any blockages.
- Gas Cylinder Replacement:
- Always replace the gas cylinder in a well-ventilated area, away from any ignition sources.
- Ensure the heater is off and the gas cylinder valve is closed.
- Disconnect the empty cylinder and connect the new one, following the setup instructions (Section 4).
- Always perform a leak test after replacing the cylinder.
- Storage:

Image: Compact design for storage. The heater can be folded and stored in a cabinet when not in use.
- When not in use, especially during warmer months, ensure the heater is clean and dry.
- Disconnect the gas cylinder and store it separately in a cool, well-ventilated area.
- The heater's compact design allows for convenient storage in a cabinet or similar space.
7. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your heater, refer to the following table before contacting support.
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Heater does not ignite. | Gas cylinder empty or valve closed. Gas hose/regulator not connected properly. Air in gas line. Ignition button not held long enough. | Check gas supply and open valve. Ensure connections are tight and perform leak test. Repeat ignition process several times to purge air. Hold ignition button and control knob for 10-20 seconds after pilot ignition. |
| Heater turns off unexpectedly. | Low oxygen levels (ODS activated). Heater tipped over (Anti-tip system activated). Gas supply interrupted. Flame supervision device (DSL) issue. | Ventilate the room immediately. Do not restart until cause is found. Ensure heater is on a stable, level surface. Check gas cylinder and connections. Contact qualified service personnel if issue persists. |
| Smell of gas. | Gas leak. | Immediately turn off gas supply at the cylinder. Ventilate the area thoroughly. Do not operate any electrical switches or appliances. Perform a leak test with soapy water. If leak persists, do not use the heater and contact qualified service personnel or your gas supplier. |
| Insufficient heat output. | Incorrect power setting. Low gas pressure. Ventilation issues. | Adjust to a higher power level. Check gas cylinder level and regulator. Ensure proper ventilation. |
| Missing gas hose/regulator connection. | These items are not included with the heater. | Purchase a compatible gas hose and pressure regulator separately from a certified supplier. Ensure they meet local safety standards and are correctly installed. |
