Cressi Digi2 Scuba Diving Digital Console Instruction Manual

Your essential guide to operating and maintaining your Cressi Digi2.

1. Introduction

The Cressi Digi2 is a compact, high-precision digital console designed for scuba diving. It provides essential information such as tank pressure, depth, residual dive time, and water temperature in an easy-to-read format. This manual provides instructions for the proper setup, operation, and maintenance of your Digi2 to ensure safe and reliable performance.

2. Setup

2.1 Initial Connection

Connect the Digi2 console to the high-pressure port of your regulator. Ensure the connection is secure to prevent leaks.

2.2 Battery Installation and Self-Test

The Digi2 features an easy battery replacement process. After installing a new battery, the console will perform a self-test to confirm correct installation and functionality. An alarm will indicate when the battery needs replacement.

2.3 Changing Units of Measure (Metric/Imperial)

The Digi2 can display measurements in either metric (BAR, meters, degrees Centigrade) or imperial (PSI, feet, degrees Fahrenheit) units. To switch between these systems, follow these steps:

  1. When the DIGI2 console is switched on, turn it off by resting the smart cover against it, ensuring the cover's sensor touches the bottom right of the screen. Then, remove the smart cover.
  2. Wait for the launch sequence to complete, then repeat step 1.
  3. Wait for the launch sequence to complete, then repeat step 1 a third time.

Upon the next relaunch, the units of measure will be different from those shown before the procedure.

3. Operating the Digi2

3.1 Display Information

The Digi2 features a high-contrast display that presents all critical dive data in large, easily readable numbers. Information displayed includes:

  • Tank Pressure: Accurate within 1 bar.
  • Current Depth: Real-time depth readings.
  • Maximum Depth: The deepest point reached during the dive.
  • Residual Dive Time: Calculated based on tank pressure.
  • Water Temperature: Current water temperature.
  • Dive Time: Duration of the current dive.

The console is designed for simplicity, with no buttons or menus to navigate, allowing for quick data assessment.

3.2 Adjustable Hook

An adjustable hook is integrated into the design, allowing you to position the screen at your preferred viewing angle for optimal readability during your dive.

3.3 Smart Cover for Energy Saving

The specially designed smart cover not only protects the display but also allows you to place the console in a dormant energy-saving mode when not in use. This feature significantly extends battery life.

4. Maintenance

4.1 Battery Replacement

The Digi2 battery is designed for durability, lasting for approximately 700 dives in one year, or up to 3 years with 50 dives per year when utilizing the smart cover's energy-saving mode. A battery alarm will notify you when replacement is necessary. The battery replacement process is user-friendly, and the console performs a self-test to confirm proper installation.

4.2 Impact Protection

The console is constructed with robust modules, including a composite material housing and a soft silicone outer shell, making it impact-resistant. A bump-on protector further safeguards the display from impacts and scratches when the unit is not in use.

4.3 Cleaning and Storage

After each dive, rinse the Digi2 thoroughly with fresh water to remove salt and debris. Allow it to air dry completely before storing. Store the console in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Use the smart cover to protect the display and conserve battery life during storage.

5. Troubleshooting

5.1 Display Not Turning On

  • Check the battery level. If the battery alarm is active or the display is blank, replace the battery.
  • Ensure the battery is correctly installed and the battery compartment is securely closed. The console performs a self-test upon battery installation to confirm proper seating.

5.2 Incorrect Units of Measure

If the display shows incorrect units (e.g., metric instead of imperial or vice versa), refer to Section 2.3, "Changing Units of Measure," and follow the steps to adjust the settings.

5.3 Water Ingress

If you suspect water has entered the unit (e.g., display fogging, unit malfunction after a dive), immediately cease use and contact an authorized Cressi service center. Do not attempt to open or repair the unit yourself, as this may void the warranty and cause further damage.

5.4 Inaccurate Readings

If you experience consistently inaccurate pressure or depth readings, ensure the console is properly connected to the regulator. If the issue persists, discontinue use and have the unit inspected by a qualified technician.
