1. Introduction

This manual provides detailed instructions for the safe and effective use of your RDINSCOS MT93 Rechargeable Pin-Type Moisture Meter. Please read this manual thoroughly before operation and retain it for future reference.

2. Product Overview

The RDINSCOS MT93 is a versatile pin-type moisture detector designed for precise measurement of moisture content in various materials, including wood, drywall, and flooring. It features replaceable pins, a hold function, and custom wood settings.

3. Setup

Before first use, ensure the device is fully charged using the provided USB charging cable. The device comes with a protective cap over the pins; remove this cap before use.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Powering On and Mode Selection

Press the power button to turn on the device. The display will illuminate. The MT93 offers four distinct measurement modes to ensure accuracy across different materials:

• Packing Mode: For easily absorbent packing materials such as corrugated paper and cloth bags.
• Building Mode: For building materials like cement, plaster, gypsum plaster, anhydrite screed, and cellular concrete.
• Soft Wood Mode: For low-density woods.
• Hard Wood Mode: For higher-density woods.

Use the mode selection buttons on the device to toggle between these modes. Selecting the correct mode is crucial for accurate readings.

4.2 Self-Test and Calibration

It is recommended to perform a self-test before each use to ensure the instrument is functioning correctly. The self-test reading should be within the range of 21.3% to 22.3%.

If the self-test result is not correct, manual calibration is required:

1. Select Packing Mode.
2. Press and hold the "HOLD" button for 5 seconds.
3. The screen displays "CRL".
4. Insert the pin into the cover hole.

4.3 Taking Measurements

Once the appropriate mode is selected, firmly push the pins of the meter fully into the material you wish to measure. Ensure the pins penetrate deep enough for accurate readings, especially for wood, drywall, or concrete.

The device provides quick and accurate readings up to 12mm depth. For best results, push the pins deep into the material and try not to shake the device after placing it to receive a stable reading.

4.4 Hold Function

Press the "HOLD" button to freeze the current reading on the display. This is useful for noting down measurements in hard-to-reach areas or for comparing readings.

5. Maintenance

The MT93 is designed for durability. To ensure its longevity and accurate performance:

• Charging: The device is rechargeable. Recharge as needed using the provided USB cable. Avoid overcharging.
• Pin Care: The pins are replaceable. If they become dull or damaged, replace them to maintain measurement accuracy. Always keep the protective cap on the pins when not in use.
• Cleaning: Wipe the device with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the device in water.
• Storage: Store the device in its carrying bag in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.

6. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your MT93 Moisture Meter, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

• Readings appear inconsistent between pin and pinless modes: This is normal. The pinless (ball sensor) mode provides relative values for locating moisture, while the pin probe gives exact percentage content. Use both for reliable results.
• Inaccurate readings: Ensure the correct material mode (Packing, Building, Soft Wood, Hard Wood) is selected. Verify that the pins are fully inserted into the material. Perform a self-test and recalibrate if necessary.
• Device not powering on: Check the battery level and recharge the device if needed.
