Setup and Installation
Follow these steps carefully to install your MSI B850 Gaming Plus WiFi motherboard and its components.
- Prepare the Case: Ensure your PC case is ready for an ATX motherboard. Install standoffs if necessary.
- Install the CPU:
- Open the CPU socket lever on the motherboard.
- Carefully align the AMD Ryzen processor with the AM5 socket, ensuring the triangular mark on the CPU matches the mark on the socket.
- Gently place the CPU into the socket without forcing it.
- Close the socket lever to secure the CPU.
- Install the CPU Cooler: Follow the instructions provided with your CPU cooler to install it onto the motherboard. Apply thermal paste if not pre-applied.
- Install RAM (DDR5 Memory):
- Open the clips on both ends of the DIMM slots.
- Align the notch on the DDR5 memory module with the notch in the DIMM slot.
