- Store Battery Cover: The MB-N11 battery grip includes a dedicated slot to store the camera's battery compartment cover. Insert the cover into this slot to prevent loss.
- Mount Grip: Align the battery grip with the camera's battery compartment and the tripod socket. Insert the grip's contact pins into the camera's battery slot.
- Secure Grip: Rotate the mounting screw on the battery grip clockwise until it is firmly secured to the camera's tripod socket.

5.2 Inserting Batteries into the Grip
- Open Battery Tray: Unlock and pull out the battery tray from the MB-N11 grip.
- Insert Batteries: Insert one or two EN-EL15c (or compatible EN-EL15b/a/original EN-EL15) batteries into the tray, ensuring correct polarity.
- Close Battery Tray: Slide the battery tray back into the grip and lock it securely.

6.1 Vertical Shooting Controls
The MB-N11 grip provides duplicate controls for comfortable vertical shooting:

6.2 Hot Swapping Batteries
The MB-N11 supports hot swapping, allowing you to replace one battery without turning off the camera. This feature is active only when two batteries are installed in the grip. The camera will seamlessly switch power sources, ensuring uninterrupted shooting.
6.3 Charging Batteries
You have two options for charging the batteries:
- In-Grip Charging: Insert one or two EN-EL15c or EN-EL15b batteries into the grip. Connect a USB Type-C cable (not included) to the grip's charging port. Charging indicators will show the status. Note: EN-EL15a and original EN-EL15 batteries do not support in-grip charging.
- USB Dual Channel Charger: Use the included USB Dual Channel Charger to charge two EN-EL15c batteries simultaneously. Connect the charger to a USB power source using the Micro USB cable.

7. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Use the provided cleaning cloth to gently wipe the battery grip and camera contacts. This helps maintain cleanliness and ensures good electrical contact.

8. Troubleshooting
- Grip not recognized by camera: Ensure the grip is securely attached and the mounting screw is tightened. Check that the camera's battery compartment cover is properly stored in the grip's slot, allowing the grip's contacts to connect.
- Batteries not charging in-grip: Confirm that you are using EN-EL15c or EN-EL15b batteries, as older EN-EL15a and original EN-EL15 models do not support this feature. Verify the USB Type-C cable and power source are functional.
- Vertical controls not responding: Check the lock switch on the battery grip. Ensure it is in the 'unlocked' position for the controls to function.
- Hot swapping not working: This feature requires two batteries to be present in the grip. Ensure both slots are populated with compatible batteries.
