Product Overview

JOYO JF-11 6-Band EQ Pedal

The JF-11 Equalizer pedal offers precise control over your guitar's tone. It features six adjustable frequency bands, each providing a boost or cut of up to ±18dB. This allows for detailed sound sculpting, from enhancing articulation in overdrive to cutting muddy low-end frequencies.

Controls and Connections:

  • Frequency Sliders (100Hz, 200Hz, 400Hz, 800Hz, 1.6kHz, 3.2kHz): Adjust the gain for each frequency band.
  • Output Jack (1/4 inch, 10KΩ): Connects to your amplifier or next pedal in the signal chain.
  • Input Jack (1/4 inch, 500KΩ): Connects to your guitar or previous pedal.
  • LED Indicator: Illuminates when the pedal is active.
  • True Bypass Footswitch: Engages or disengages the effect.
  • DC 9V Power Input: For connecting the power adapter (center negative).

Setup

  1. Power Connection:
    • Connect the DC 9V 500mA power adapter to a wall outlet.
    • Plug the adapter's DC output jack into the "DC 9V" input on the JOYO JF-11 pedal. Ensure the connection is secure.

  2. Instrument Connection:
    • Connect your guitar (or the output of a preceding pedal) to the "INPUT" jack of the JF-11 pedal using a standard 1/4-inch instrument cable.
    • Connect the "OUTPUT" jack of the JF-11 pedal to your amplifier (or the input of a subsequent pedal) using another standard 1/4-inch instrument cable.
  3. Initial Check:
    • Ensure all connections are firm.
    • Turn on your amplifier.
    • Press the footswitch on the JF-11 pedal. The LED indicator should light up, indicating the pedal is active.

Important: To avoid unexpected noise, ensure your guitar is fully connected with the pedal and that the power adapter meets the working current requirement of the pedal.

Operating Instructions

  1. Engaging the Effect: Press the footswitch to activate the equalizer effect. The LED will illuminate. Press it again to bypass the effect (True Bypass).
  2. Adjusting Frequencies:
    • Use the six sliders to adjust the gain (±18dB) for each corresponding frequency band: 100Hz, 200Hz, 400Hz, 800Hz, 1.6kHz, and 3.2kHz.
    • Moving a slider up boosts that frequency, making it louder.
    • Moving a slider down cuts that frequency, making it quieter.
  3. Tone Shaping Tips:
    • 100Hz - 200Hz: Affects bass and low-end warmth. Boosting can add fullness, cutting can reduce muddiness.
    • 400Hz - 800Hz: Controls the mid-range body and presence. Adjusting these can help your guitar sit better in a mix.
    • 1.6kHz - 3.2kHz: Influences treble, clarity, and attack. Boosting can add sparkle, cutting can smooth out harshness.
    • Experiment with small adjustments to find your desired sound.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the pedal. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Storage: When not in use for extended periods, disconnect the power adapter and store the pedal in a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight.
  • Connections: Periodically check all cables and connections for wear and tear. Replace damaged cables immediately.
