  1. Prepare the Sock Aid: Hold the sock aid with the U-shaped opening facing you. Gently pull your sock or stocking over the end of the sock aid, ensuring the heel of the sock is aligned with the bottom of the aid. Smooth the sock over the aid until it is fully stretched and secure.
  2. Position on the Floor: Place the sock aid, with the sock attached, in front of your foot on the floor. Ensure the foam handles are within easy reach.
  3. Insert Foot: Carefully insert your toes into the sock opening.
  4. Pull Up the Sock: Using the foam handles, slowly pull the sock aid straight back towards you. As you pull, the sock will slide onto your foot and up your leg. Continue pulling until the sock is fully on and the aid detaches from your foot.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe both the sock aid and leg lifter strap with a damp cloth and mild soap as needed. Rinse thoroughly and air dry completely before storage.
  • Storage: Store the devices in a clean, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Inspection: Regularly inspect the ropes, handles, and strap for any signs of wear, fraying, or damage. Discontinue use if any damage is found and replace the product.

Troubleshooting

  • Sock Not Sliding Easily: Ensure the sock is fully stretched over the sock aid and not bunched up. The sock aid is not recommended for compression socks, which may be too tight to slide easily.
  • Foot Not Entering Sock Aid: Make sure the sock aid is placed flat on the floor and stable. Adjust your sitting position to allow for better alignment.
  • Difficulty Gripping Handles: The foam handles are designed for comfort. If grip is still an issue, consider using both hands or adjusting the rope length for a more comfortable pull.
  • Leg Lifter Strap Slipping: Ensure the foot loop is securely positioned around your foot. The widened aluminum plate can be gently bent to better conform to your foot's shape for a more secure fit.
