2. Safety Information
WARNING:
- When welding, and immediately after welding, the temperature of the welding needle, nickel plate, and battery welding melt pool will be extremely high. Do not touch these areas as it may cause severe burns.
- Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, when operating the spot welder.
- Ensure proper ventilation in your work area.
- Do not operate the device if it is damaged or malfunctioning.
- Keep the device away from flammable materials.
- After use, always cover the welding pins with the protective cap to prevent accidental contact or damage.
- The device has an internal smart temperature detection system. If the device temperature exceeds 65°C, it will cut off charging input and prohibit spot welding until the temperature drops below 63°C. Do not attempt to bypass this safety feature.

5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Power On/Off
Press and hold the power button (location typically near the screen) for a few seconds to turn the device on or off. The TFT color screen will illuminate upon power-on.
5.2 Mode Selection (Auto/Manual)
The device supports both automatic and manual welding modes. Use the control buttons (refer to the screen interface) to switch between these modes. In automatic mode, the device detects contact and welds automatically. In manual mode, you initiate the weld via a button press.
5.3 Adjusting Power Gears (1-99)
The spot welder offers 99 adjustable power gears. Use the up/down buttons to select the appropriate power level for your welding task. Higher numbers indicate higher welding power. Start with lower settings and gradually increase as needed for optimal results on your material.

5.4 Welding Process
- Prepare Surfaces: Ensure the nickel sheet and battery terminals are clean and free of oxidation. Use the provided sandpaper if necessary.
- Position Material: Place the nickel sheet firmly against the battery terminal where the weld is desired.
- Apply Pressure: Press the two welding needles firmly onto the nickel sheet, ensuring good contact with both the sheet and the battery terminal beneath.
- Initiate Weld:
- Automatic Mode: The weld will automatically trigger once sufficient contact and pressure are detected.
- Manual Mode: Press the designated welding button to initiate the weld.
- Inspect Weld: After the weld, carefully lift the welder and inspect the joint. A good weld will be firm and have a rounded appearance.

5.5 Dual Pulse Technology
This spot welder utilizes dual pulse technology for superior welding results. The first pulse (deoxygenation pulse) helps to clean the welding surface, while the second, stronger pulse (welding pulse) creates the actual bond. This results in cleaner, stronger, and more consistent welds.

Figure 5.3: A graph illustrating the dual pulse output of the spot welder, showing a smaller deoxygenation pulse followed by a larger welding pulse over time, contributing to strong and efficient welds.
6. Maintenance
6.1 Cleaning Welding Needles
Over time, the copper welding needles may accumulate residue or become oxidized. Use the provided sandpaper to gently clean the tips of the needles to ensure optimal conductivity and welding performance. Replace needles if they become excessively worn or damaged.
6.2 General Cleaning
Wipe the body of the spot welder with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents. Ensure no liquids enter the device.
6.3 Storage
Store the device in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Always cover the welding needles with their protective cap when not in use.
7. Troubleshooting
- Device does not power on:
Ensure the device is fully charged. Connect it to the charging cable and allow sufficient time for charging.
- Poor welds or no weld:
- Check if the welding needles are clean and free of oxidation. Clean them with sandpaper if necessary.
- Ensure firm and consistent pressure is applied to both welding needles on the material.
- Increase the power gear setting. Start with a lower setting and gradually increase until a strong weld is achieved.
- Verify that the nickel sheet and battery terminals are clean.
- Ensure the material thickness is within the supported range (0.10mm to 0.25mm for nickel plating).
- Device shuts off during operation:
The device may have overheated. Allow it to cool down. The internal smart temperature detection system will prevent operation if the temperature exceeds 65°C. Operation will resume when the temperature drops below 63°C.
