5. Setup and Installation

The JOVJOYER RV Tankless Water Heater is designed for compatibility with most RVs featuring a 13" x 13" opening and a 15" x 15" door. Detailed installation instructions are provided to ensure a proper fit and function.

5.1 Pre-Installation Checks

  • Ensure the installation location meets the minimum cut-out size of 13" x 13" and maximum of 13.3" x 13.3" for the unit, and a 15" x 15" door opening.
  • Verify that your RV's electrical system can provide 12V DC power.
  • Confirm that your RV's propane system is compatible and has sufficient supply.

5.2 Electrical Connections

Identify the existing wiring for your previous water heater. Typically, two wires are for gas control and two for standard electric. For this unit, connect the 12V DC power supply to the designated terminals. The wired remote controller connects via its dedicated cable; polarity for the thermostat wires typically does not matter.

5.3 Gas Connections

  • The heater's gas inlet is 1/2" MPT. You may require a reducer if your RV's gas line is 3/8".
  • Use yellow gas-rated Teflon tape and thread sealant on all gas connections.
  • After making all gas connections, perform a leak test using soapy water. Apply soapy water to all connections and check for bubbles, which indicate a leak. Tighten connections as necessary.

5.4 Water Connections

Connect the RV's water inlet and outlet lines to the heater's 1/2" MPT threads. Ensure all water connections are tight to prevent leaks. The unit comes with a built-in pressure relief valve.

6. Operating Instructions

The JOVJOYER RV Tankless Water Heater provides instant hot water on demand. The intelligent temperature control system ensures a stable water temperature.

6.1 Initial Start-up

  • Ensure the propane supply is open and the water supply is connected and turned on.
  • Turn on the unit using the power button on the wired remote controller.
  • Open a hot water faucet in your RV. The water heater will detect flow and initiate the heating process. It may take a few seconds for the fan and burner to start.

6.2 Temperature Control

Use the wired remote controller to set your desired water temperature between 95°F and 123°F. The unit's graded fine-tuning combustion system will maintain this temperature stably, preventing sudden fluctuations.
