Key Features:

Setup and Installation

The tectake® Car Seat is installed using the vehicle's 3-point seat belt. It is designed for forward-facing installation only.

Installation Steps:

  1. Positioning the Car Seat: Place the car seat on the desired vehicle seat, ensuring it is stable and flush against the vehicle's backrest.
  2. Securing with 3-point Seat Belt:
    • Pull the vehicle's 3-point seat belt around the car seat.
    • Guide the lap belt portion through the designated belt guides at the base of the car seat.
    • Guide the diagonal shoulder belt portion through the belt guide near the headrest. Ensure the belt is not twisted.
    • Buckle the vehicle's seat belt.
    • Pull the diagonal belt tightly to remove any slack, pressing the car seat firmly into the vehicle seat. Ensure the car seat is securely fastened and does not move excessively.
  3. Infant Reducer Cushion (for 76-105 cm height): For smaller children (76-105 cm), ensure the comfortable infant reducer cushion is properly inserted into the car seat. This provides additional support and a snug fit.
  4. Headrest Adjustment: Adjust the headrest to the correct height. The bottom of the headrest should be level with your child's shoulders. The headrest is 8-way height-adjustable.

Operating Instructions

Securing Your Child:

  1. Placing the Child: Place your child in the car seat.
  2. Fastening the 5-point Harness (76-105 cm):
    • Bring the two shoulder straps over your child's shoulders and the two waist straps between their legs.
    • Connect the two buckle tongues and insert them into the central buckle until you hear a click.
    • Pull the adjustment strap at the front of the seat to tighten the harness until it is snug against your child's body. Ensure you can only fit one finger between the harness and your child's collarbone.
    • To loosen the harness, press the release button (usually located near the adjustment strap) and pull the shoulder straps outwards.
  3. Using as Booster Seat with Vehicle's 3-point Belt (100-150 cm):
    • Once your child reaches 100 cm (and up to 150 cm), the 5-point harness can be removed (refer to maintenance section for removal).
    • Secure your child using the vehicle's 3-point seat belt. Guide the lap belt across your child's hips, ensuring it sits low on the thighs, not across the stomach.
    • Guide the diagonal shoulder belt across your child's shoulder and chest, ensuring it does not rub against the neck. Use the car seat's belt guide near the headrest to position the shoulder belt correctly.
  4. Headrest Adjustment: The headrest should always be adjusted so that the shoulder straps are at or just above your child's shoulders when using the 5-point harness, or so the vehicle's shoulder belt is correctly positioned when using as a booster.

Maintenance and Care

Cleaning the Cover:

The polyester cover of the tectake® Car Seat is removable and machine-washable, making cleaning easy and ensuring hygiene.

  1. Removing the Cover: Locate the practical zipper on the cover. Unzip and carefully remove the cover from the car seat frame.
  2. Washing Instructions: Machine wash the cover according to the care label, typically at a low temperature (e.g., 30°C) with mild detergent. Do not bleach, tumble dry, or iron.
  3. Drying: Air dry the cover completely before reattaching it to the car seat.
  4. Reattaching the Cover: Carefully place the dry cover back onto the car seat frame and zip it up, ensuring all edges are properly aligned.

Cleaning the Frame:

Wipe the plastic and metal parts of the car seat frame with a damp cloth and mild soap. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.

Harness Care:

Wipe the harness straps with a damp cloth. Do not machine wash the harness straps as this may weaken the material.
