Setup and Installation

The Awoco Flush Ceiling Mount Split Insert Range Hood consists of two main components: the hood unit and the blower unit. These units are shipped in separate packages. The blower unit is designed for attic installation, while the hood unit is mounted flush in the ceiling.

Pre-Installation Checklist:

  • Verify all components are present: Range Hood, Blower Unit, Remote Control, Round Adapter, Manual, Screws.
  • Ensure the installation area in the ceiling and attic can support the weight of the units (Hood weight: 30.8 lbs, Blower weight: 27.5 lbs).
  • Confirm that the existing venting duct is an 8-inch round top vent. This model does not support rear venting. Ducts are not included.
  • A wood frame is required for securely mounting the hood unit in the ceiling.
  • Power requirements: 120V/60Hz. A 44-inch long power cord with a plug is included.

Installation Steps (Overview):

  1. Prepare the ceiling opening and construct a sturdy wood frame to support the hood unit.
  2. Install the blower unit in the attic, ensuring it is securely mounted and connected to the 8-inch round ductwork.
  3. Mount the hood unit flush into the ceiling opening, securing it to the prepared wood frame.
  4. Connect the electrical wiring and the 5-wire cable between the hood unit and the blower unit.
  5. Ensure all connections are secure and sealed.

Operating Instructions

Your Awoco range hood can be operated using the integrated touch sensor panel or the included remote control.

Controls:

  • Power On/Off: Press the power button on the touch panel or remote.
  • Fan Speed Adjustment: The hood offers 4 speeds (Q, I, II, III) up to 1000 CFM. Use the speed control buttons on the touch panel or remote to cycle through or select desired speed.
  • LED Lights: Activate the 5W LED light bars using the light button on the touch panel or remote to illuminate your cooking area.
  • Delay Auto Shut-off: The unit features up to a 15-minute delay auto shut-off function to clear residual smoke after cooking. Activate this feature via the control panel or remote.

Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity of your range hood.

Cleaning Mesh Filters:

The range hood is equipped with dishwasher-safe commercial-style aluminum mesh filters. These filters collect grease and should be cleaned regularly depending on cooking frequency.

  1. Turn off and unplug the range hood before removing filters.
  2. Carefully remove the mesh filters from the hood unit.
  3. Place the filters in a dishwasher for cleaning, or wash them by hand with warm, soapy water.
  4. Ensure filters are completely dry before reinstalling.
  5. Reinstall the clean filters into the hood unit.

Note: The oil is contained within the mesh filters, eliminating the need for separate oil holders.

Troubleshooting
