3. Setup

3.1 Unpacking

Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Ensure all listed components in Section 2.1 are present. Retain packaging for future storage or transport.

3.2 Charging the Battery

1. Place the charging base in a dry, protected area near a power outlet.
2. Connect the power supply to the charging base and then to a suitable electrical outlet.
3. Place the Zodiac Freedom of 42 iQ cleaner onto the charging base. Ensure proper alignment for the charging contacts.
4. The charging indicator light on the cleaner or charging base will illuminate to confirm charging has begun. A full charge typically takes approximately 2 hours.
5. Do not leave the cleaner on the charging base for extended periods after it is fully charged.

4. Operation

4.1 Starting a Cleaning Cycle

4.2 iAqualink App Connection

The Zodiac Freedom of 42 iQ can be controlled and monitored via the iAqualink app. Download the iAqualink app from your device's app store and follow the in-app instructions to pair your cleaner. This allows for remote control, cycle customization, and status updates.

4.3 Tap & Lift Function

To easily retrieve the cleaner from the pool:

1. Using the provided retrieval hook attached to a standard pool pole, gently tap the lid of the cleaner.
2. The cleaner will activate its ascent mode and move towards the waterline.
3. Once at the waterline, use the retrieval hook to lift the cleaner out of the pool. Allow excess water to drain before fully removing it.

5.1 Cleaning the Filter Basket

Regular cleaning of the filter basket is crucial for maintaining optimal cleaning performance.

1. After each cleaning cycle, remove the cleaner from the pool.
2. Open the lid of the cleaner to access the filter basket.
3. Remove the filter basket from the cleaner.
4. Rinse the filter basket thoroughly with a garden hose to remove all debris. Ensure all fine particles are flushed out.
5. Reinsert the clean filter basket into the cleaner and close the lid securely.
