1. Introduction and Overview

The Cuddeback CuddeLink Zoom IR LLZ-5A is a wireless cellular trail camera designed for wildlife monitoring and property surveillance. This camera integrates into the CuddeLink wireless network, allowing multiple cameras to communicate and send images through a single cellular connection.

2. What's in the Box

Upon unpacking your Cuddeback CuddeLink Zoom IR LLZ-5A camera, please ensure all the following components are present:

3. Setup

3.1 Battery Installation

The camera requires 4 D-cell batteries (not included) for operation. For optimal performance and extended battery life, it is recommended to use high-quality alkaline or lithium batteries.

1. Open the camera's main housing latch.
2. Locate the battery compartment.
3. Insert 4 D-cell batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment.
4. Close the battery compartment securely.

3.2 SD Card Installation

An SD card (up to 256GB, not included) is required to store captured images and videos.

1. Locate the weatherproof SD card slot on the side of the camera.
2. Insert the SD card with the label facing up until it clicks into place.
3. To remove, push the SD card in until it clicks, then release, and it will eject.

3.3 Antenna Attachment

Attach the provided antenna to the designated port on the top of the camera. Ensure it is securely tightened for optimal signal reception.

3.4 Mounting the Camera

The camera can be mounted using the included mounting bracket and strap, or with compatible Cuddeback Genius mounts (sold separately).

1. Select a suitable location, such as a tree or post, ensuring a clear view of the desired monitoring area.
2. Attach the mounting bracket to the camera.
3. Thread the mounting strap through the bracket and around the mounting surface.
4. Securely fasten the strap, ensuring the camera is stable and pointed correctly.

3.5 Initial Power On and Configuration

After installing batteries and an SD card, power on the camera. Use the camera's built-in display and push buttons to navigate the menu for initial settings. 4. Operating Instructions

4.1 CuddeLink Network Setup

The CuddeLink system allows multiple cameras to transmit images to a single Cell Home unit, which then sends them to your phone or web interface. This reduces the need for multiple cellular plans and minimizes disturbance in the field.

1. Designate one CuddeLink camera as the 'Cell Home' unit. This camera will require a cellular data plan.
2. Configure other CuddeLink cameras as 'Remote' units.
3. Follow the on-screen instructions on each camera to link them to the Cell Home. Cameras can link up to ¼ mile away, with the network extending over 2 miles through daisy-chain transmission.

4.2 Camera Modes and Settings

The Zoom IR camera offers various settings to optimize performance:

• Motion Activated: Captures images or videos when motion is detected.
• Sensitivity Settings: Choose from 7 sensitivity levels for precise detection, adjusting for target distance and environmental factors.

4.3 Image and Video Capture

4.4 Accessing Photos and Control

Photos can be accessed manually from the CuddeLink Cell Home unit's SD card or wirelessly via LTE transmission to your phone or the CAMP web interface. The Cuddeback app and web browser allow you to control camera settings remotely without entering the field.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Battery Replacement

When battery levels are low, replace all 4 D-cell batteries simultaneously. Using fresh, high-quality batteries ensures consistent performance and prevents issues.
