4. Initial Setup
4.1 Unpacking and First Use
- Carefully remove all packaging materials and protective films from the espresso machine.
- Before first use, ensure to remove the red tab located on the bottom of the water tank. This tab prevents water leakage during shipping.
- Wash the water tank, portafilter, sieves, and steam nozzle in warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely.

5.1 Preparing Espresso

- Select the appropriate sieve (single or double shot) and place it into the portafilter.
- Grind fresh coffee beans to a fine consistency suitable for espresso. Use the included measuring spoon to add ground coffee to the sieve.
- Use the tamper end of the measuring spoon to firmly compress the coffee grounds. Ensure the surface is level.
- Insert the portafilter into the brewing head, aligning the handle with the unlock mark. Push upwards and turn the handle to the right until it is securely locked in place.
- Place your pre-warmed espresso cup(s) on the drip tray beneath the portafilter.
- Press the single or double shot button on the control panel. The machine will automatically brew the espresso.

5.2 Using the Steam Wand (Milk Frothing)
- Fill a metal frothing pitcher with cold milk (dairy or non-dairy) to just below the spout.
- Position the steam wand into the milk, just below the surface.
- Press the steam button on the control panel. The machine will begin to heat up for steaming.
- Once the steam is ready, turn the steam control knob to release steam. Move the pitcher up and down to create foam.
- When desired foam and temperature are reached, turn off the steam control knob and press the steam button to stop.
- Immediately wipe the steam wand with a damp cloth to prevent milk residue from drying.

5.3 Hot Water Dispensing
- Place a cup under the steam wand.
- Press the steam button.
- Once the steam indicator light is stable, turn the steam control knob to dispense hot water.
- Turn the knob back to the closed position to stop the flow.

- Empty and clean the drip tray and its cover. These parts, along with the steam nozzle and sieves, are dishwasher-safe.
- Wipe down the area where the portafilter fits into the machine with a damp cloth.
6.2 Descaling
Descaling is crucial for maintaining optimal performance and extending the lifespan of your espresso machine. It is recommended to descale once a month, or when the cleaning icon appears on the display.
- Ensure the machine is cool and unplugged.
- Empty the water tank. Fill it with a 50/50 mixture of water and white vinegar.
- Place a large container under the portafilter and another under the steam wand.
- Plug in and turn on the machine. Allow it to heat up.
- Repeatedly start the brewing process (single or double shot) until the water tank is empty.
- Run the hot water process through the steam wand to internally clean its components until the tank is empty.
- Rinse the water tank thoroughly and fill it with fresh, clean water.
- Repeat steps 4-6 with clean water to rinse out any remaining descaling solution. Repeat this rinsing process several times.
