2. Safety Information

Your SITERWELL Smoke Detector meets stringent safety standards, including UL 217 and UL 2034 certifications, ensuring high accuracy and reliability. Adherence to these standards is crucial for effective fire safety. Please read and understand all instructions before installation and operation.

  • Regulatory Compliance: This smoke alarm complies with UL 217-9th standards. California and New York State regulations effective January 1, 2025, require smoke alarms meeting the latest standards (e.g., UL 217 8th Edition) and 10-year sealed battery smoke alarms, respectively. This product is designed to meet these requirements.
  • Placement: Install smoke alarms on every level of your home, inside each bedroom, and outside each sleeping area.
  • Do Not Paint: Do not paint the smoke alarm. Paint can clog the sensing chambers and prevent the alarm from operating correctly.
  • Testing: Test your smoke alarm weekly to ensure proper function.

  • Alarm Sound: When testing, the alarm will emit a series of loud beeps followed by bilingual voice alerts: "Fire!" and "Incendie!".

6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures your smoke detector remains in optimal working condition.

  • Battery: The smoke detector features a sealed 10-year battery that does not require replacement. The unit should be replaced after 10 years from the date of manufacture or when the end-of-life signal sounds.
  • Cleaning: Clean your smoke detector at least once a month. Use a soft brush or a vacuum cleaner with a soft brush attachment to remove dust and debris from the vents. Do not use cleaning solvents or paint the unit.
  • Testing: Test the alarm weekly by pressing the Test/Silence button.
