Setup Guide

Building a system in a compact case requires careful planning and adherence to the recommended installation order. This guide outlines the steps for installing components into your Iesooy Phoenix U320 case.

Component Compatibility Considerations:

  • Power Supply: A modular power supply is highly recommended to minimize cable clutter. If installing a 240mm liquid cooler, an SFX power supply is required.
  • CPU Cooler: Ensure your CPU cooler height does not exceed 135 mm.
  • Graphics Card: Maximum length is 310 mm. Consider the position of power connectors; an additional 15 mm clearance may be needed. With a standard ATX power supply, the case may only accommodate a two-fan GPU.
  • Motherboard: While the case supports Micro ATX, some larger Micro ATX boards may be a very tight fit. Mini ITX motherboards generally offer more space for easier installation.

Installation Steps:

  1. Prepare Power Supply: If using a modular power supply, connect only the necessary cables (e.g., 24-pin motherboard power, 8-pin CPU power, 8-pin PCIe) before installation.
  2. Install Power Supply: Secure the power supply into its designated bay at the bottom of the case.
  3. Prepare Motherboard: Install the CPU, CPU cooler (if air cooler), RAM, and M.2 SSDs onto your motherboard outside the case. This prevents space constraints during installation.
  4. Install Top Fans (Optional): Remove the top fan rack. Install two 90 mm slim case fans. Standard 25mm thick fans may not fit. Ensure fans are configured to exhaust air.
  5. Install Motherboard: Carefully place the prepared motherboard into the case. Depending on the motherboard and power supply size, you may need to gently maneuver it into position.
  6. Reinstall Top Fan Rack: Once the motherboard is in place, reattach the top fan rack with the installed fans.
  7. Install Rear Fan (Optional): Install one 80 mm or 90 mm slim fan on the rear panel. Configure it to exhaust air.
  8. Install Graphics Card (Optional): If using a graphics card, install it into the PCIe slot. Be mindful of the available space, especially with an ATX power supply.
  9. Connect Cables: Connect all power cables from the power supply to the motherboard, graphics card, and storage devices. Connect front panel I/O cables (USB, audio, power/reset switches). Use included plastic ties to manage cables and prevent interference with fans or hot components.
  10. Install Bottom Fans (Optional): After all other components are installed, you can install up to three 90 mm or two 120 mm slim intake fans at the bottom of the case.

Operating Instructions

Once all components are correctly installed and secured, connect your peripherals (monitor, keyboard, mouse, etc.) and the power cable to the case. Press the power button on the front panel to start your system. Ensure adequate ventilation around the case to maintain optimal operating temperatures.

Maintenance

  • Dust Cleaning: Regularly clean dust from the case's ventilation areas and internal components using compressed air or a soft brush. This helps maintain airflow and prevents overheating.
  • External Cleaning: Wipe the exterior of the case with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Cable Management: Periodically check internal cable routing to ensure no cables are obstructing fans or airflow.

Troubleshooting

  • System Not Powering On:
    • Verify all power connections are secure, including the 24-pin motherboard power, 8-pin CPU power, and power supply cable to the wall outlet.
    • Ensure the power supply switch is in the "ON" position.
    • Check front panel power button connections to the motherboard.
  • Overheating Issues:
    • Confirm all case fans and CPU cooler fans are spinning correctly and installed with the correct airflow direction (intake/exhaust).
    • Clean any dust buildup from fans and heatsinks.
    • Ensure adequate space around the case for proper ventilation.
  • Component Fitment Issues:
    • If a CPU cooler exceeds 135mm, it will not fit. Consider a lower profile cooler or liquid cooling.
    • If a graphics card is too long (over 310mm) or too thick, it may not fit. Verify dimensions before purchase.
    • The internal power cable extension for the PSU can sometimes interfere with large CPU coolers. Ensure clearance during installation.
  • Poor Cable Management:
    • This compact case offers limited space for cable management. Use a modular power supply and included cable ties to bundle and route cables away from airflow paths and moving parts.
