MSI MAG Coreliquid A13 360 AIO ARGB CPU Liquid Cooler User Manual

Model: CLA13360 | Brand: MSI

1. Introduction

The MSI MAG Coreliquid A13 360 is an all-in-one (AIO) liquid cooling solution designed for high-performance desktop CPUs. It features a 360mm radiator, triple 120mm ARGB PWM fans, and a robust pump to efficiently dissipate heat and maintain optimal system temperatures. This manual provides essential information for the proper installation, operation, and maintenance of your liquid cooler.

2. Package Contents

Verify that all items are present in the package before proceeding with installation:

  • MSI MAG Coreliquid A13 360 AIO Cooler (Radiator with integrated pump and tubing)
  • 3 x 120mm ARGB PWM Fans
  • Mounting Hardware Kit for Intel (LGA 1700/1851) and AMD (AM5/AM4) Sockets
  • Thermal Paste (pre-applied or in a tube)
  • Fan Screws and Radiator Mounting Screws
  • ARGB and PWM Fan Splitter Cables (if applicable)

3. Setup and Installation

Before installation, ensure your system is powered off and unplugged. Refer to your motherboard and PC case manuals for specific mounting locations and clearances.

3.1. Prepare CPU and Motherboard

  • Clean the CPU surface thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol to remove any old thermal paste.
  • Select the appropriate backplate and mounting brackets for your CPU socket (Intel LGA 1700/1851 or AMD AM5/AM4).
  • Install the backplate behind the motherboard, aligning it with the CPU socket holes.

3.2. Install Radiator and Fans

Mount the three 120mm ARGB PWM fans to the 360mm radiator using the provided fan screws. Ensure the fan airflow direction is set according to your case's cooling strategy (intake or exhaust).

3.3. Mount Pump Block to CPU

  • Apply thermal paste to the center of the CPU if not pre-applied on the cooler's cold plate.
  • Carefully place the pump block onto the CPU, aligning the mounting holes with the standoffs from the backplate.
  • Secure the pump block with the appropriate thumb screws or nuts, tightening them in a diagonal pattern until snug. Do not overtighten.

3.4. Connect Cables

  • Connect the pump's 4-pin power connector to the CPU_FAN or AIO_PUMP header on your motherboard.
  • Connect the 120mm ARGB PWM fans to the fan headers on your motherboard or a fan controller. Use the provided splitter cables if necessary.
  • Connect the ARGB cables from the fans and pump block to a compatible 3-pin 5V ARGB header on your motherboard or an ARGB controller.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1. Fan and Pump Control

The fans and pump are PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) controlled, allowing their speed to be adjusted based on CPU temperature. This can be configured through your motherboard's BIOS/UEFI settings or dedicated software provided by your motherboard manufacturer.

4.2. ARGB Lighting Control

The Addressable RGB (ARGB) lighting on the fans and pump block can be customized using MSI Mystic Light software or other compatible motherboard RGB software. This allows for synchronization of lighting effects across your system components.

5. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity of your AIO cooler:

  • Dust Cleaning: Periodically clean dust from the radiator fins and fan blades using compressed air or a soft brush. Excessive dust can impede airflow and reduce cooling efficiency.
  • Tubing Inspection: Visually inspect the tubing for any signs of kinks, damage, or leaks. While the tubing is designed to be evaporation-proof, regular checks are recommended.
  • Fan Operation: Ensure all fans are spinning freely and quietly. If a fan becomes noisy or stops spinning, it may need replacement.

6. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your MSI MAG Coreliquid A13 360, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
High CPU TemperaturesImproper thermal paste application, loose pump block, insufficient airflow, pump failure.Reapply thermal paste, ensure pump block is securely mounted, check fan orientation and radiator for dust, verify pump is powered and running.
Fans Not Spinning / Noisy FansLoose fan cable, incorrect fan header, fan malfunction, dust accumulation.Check fan connections, ensure connected to a working fan header, clean fans, consider fan replacement if faulty.
ARGB Lighting Not WorkingLoose ARGB cable, incorrect ARGB header (5V vs 12V), software issue.Verify ARGB cable connection to a 3-pin 5V ARGB header, ensure correct software is installed and configured (MSI Mystic Light).
Pump NoiseAir bubbles in the loop, pump malfunction.Orient the radiator higher than the pump block to allow air bubbles to settle in the radiator. If noise persists, contact support.
