2.3 First Use (Burn-Off)
Before cooking food, operate the oven empty for approximately 30 minutes at maximum temperature (250°C) using the conventional heating function. This will burn off any manufacturing residues and odors. Ensure the kitchen is well-ventilated during this process.
3. Operating Instructions
Your GLEM GAS oven features intuitive rotary controls and a mechanical timer for precise cooking.
3.1 Control Panel Overview

Figure 2: A detailed view of the oven's control panel, featuring two rotary knobs for function and temperature selection, and a mechanical timer.
- Left Rotary Knob: Function Selector. Turn this knob to choose your desired cooking mode (e.g., conventional, fan-assisted, grill).
- Right Rotary Knob: Temperature Selector. Turn this knob to set the desired cooking temperature in degrees Celsius.
- Central Knob/Dial: Mechanical Timer. This timer can be set for cooking duration or as a minute minder.
3.2 Setting the Mechanical Timer
To set the cooking duration, turn the central mechanical timer knob clockwise to the desired time. The oven will operate for the set duration and then switch off automatically, often with an audible signal. To use as a minute minder, turn the knob to the desired time; the oven will not switch off but will signal when the time expires.
3.3 Selecting Cooking Functions and Temperature
- Turn the Function Selector (left knob) to the desired cooking mode. Your oven offers various options, including a ventilated function for even heat distribution.
- Turn the Temperature Selector (right knob) to the required temperature for your recipe.
- If desired, set the Mechanical Timer for the cooking duration.
- The oven will begin heating. The indicator light will turn off once the set temperature is reached.
3.4 Preheating
For best results, preheat the oven to the desired temperature before placing food inside. This typically takes 10-15 minutes, depending on the temperature setting.
4. Cleaning and Maintenance
Regular cleaning and maintenance will ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your GLEM GAS oven.
4.1 General Cleaning
- Always disconnect the oven from the power supply before cleaning.
- Exterior: Clean the exterior surfaces with a soft cloth and mild detergent. Avoid abrasive cleaners or scourers.
- Interior: For light soiling, wipe the interior with a damp cloth and mild detergent after each use, once the oven has cooled. For heavier soiling, use a specialized oven cleaner, following the product's instructions carefully. Ensure adequate ventilation.
- Oven Door: Clean the glass door with a non-abrasive glass cleaner.
- Accessories: Oven racks and trays can be washed in warm soapy water or in a dishwasher.
4.2 Replacing the Oven Light
Ensure the oven is cool and disconnected from the power supply. Unscrew the protective glass cover inside the oven. Replace the old bulb with a new, heat-resistant oven bulb of the correct wattage (check specifications or the old bulb). Screw the protective cover back on securely.
