Operating Instructions

Your Oaks Aura ceiling fan can be controlled using the included remote control or a dedicated smartphone application. The remote control offers comprehensive functionality for ease of use.

Remote Control Functions

  • Power On/Off: Separate buttons to turn the fan and light on or off.
  • Fan Speed: 6-speed settings to adjust airflow from a gentle breeze to a strong current.
  • Timer: Set the fan to automatically turn off after 1, 2, or 4 hours.
  • Reversible Motor: Switch between forward (downward airflow for cooling) and reverse (upward airflow for heat circulation) modes.
  • Natural Wind Mode: Simulates a natural breeze by varying fan speeds.
  • Light Control: Turn lights on/off. If dimmable bulbs are used, the remote may also control dimming (bulbs not included).

Reversible Motor Function

The fan features a reversible DC motor, allowing for year-round comfort. In summer mode, the blades rotate counter-clockwise, pushing air downwards to create a cooling effect. In winter mode, the blades rotate clockwise, drawing air upwards to circulate warm air trapped near the ceiling, helping to warm the room.

  • Speed 3-4: Steady and Soft Wind – Moderate airflow for everyday use.
  • Speed 5-6: Bionic Breeze and Fresh – Stronger airflow for maximum cooling.

Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity of your ceiling fan.

  • Cleaning: Dust the fan blades and motor housing periodically with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the finish.
  • Blade Inspection: Check fan blade screws for tightness at least once a year. Loose screws can cause wobbling and noise.
  • Light Fixture: Ensure light bulbs are securely tightened. Replace bulbs as needed, ensuring they match the specified E26 base.
  • General Check: Periodically inspect all connections and mounting hardware to ensure they remain secure.

Troubleshooting

If you experience issues with your ceiling fan, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

  • Fan Does Not Start:
    • Check that the power is turned on at the circuit breaker and wall switch.
    • Ensure all wire connections are secure.
    • Verify the remote control batteries are working and correctly inserted.
  • Fan Wobbles:
    • Ensure all blade screws are tightened.
    • Check that the mounting bracket and downrod are securely installed.
    • Verify blades are balanced. A balancing kit (not included) can be used if necessary.
  • Light Does Not Work:
    • Check that the light switch on the remote is pressed.
    • Ensure bulbs are correctly installed and not burnt out.
    • Verify light kit wiring connections.
  • Noisy Operation:
    • Ensure all screws are tight.
    • Check for any loose parts or obstructions.
