Setup

1. Unpacking: Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Retain packaging for future transport or storage.
2. Placement: Place the grinder on a stable, dry, and level surface. Ensure adequate ventilation around the unit.
3. Hopper Assembly: Insert the bean hopper into the top of the grinder body. Ensure it is securely seated.
4. Power Connection: Plug the power cord into a grounded 120 Volt AC outlet.

Operating Instructions

1. Grind Adjustment

The Mignon Silenzio features a stepless micrometric grind adjustment system, allowing for precise control over your grind size. The adjustment knob is located on the top right side of the grinder.

• Turn the knob clockwise for a finer grind (e.g., for espresso).
• Turn the knob counter-clockwise for a coarser grind (e.g., for pour-over or French press).
• The bottom-burr adjust feature allows you to remove the top burr for cleaning without losing your grind setting.

2. Timed Dosing

The grinder is equipped with a timed dosing function for consistent coffee quantities.

1. Adjust the timer dial located on the side of the grinder to your desired grinding duration.
2. Place your portafilter or grounds catch container under the grinding chute.
3. Press the grind button to start the timed grinding cycle. The grinder will automatically stop once the set time has elapsed.

3. Grinding Process

1. Fill the bean hopper with fresh coffee beans. The hopper has a capacity of 12 ounces.
2. Select your desired grind setting using the adjustment knob. For espresso, a very fine setting is typically required.
3. Place your portafilter into the portafilter fork, or position the grounds catch container under the grinding chute.
4. Activate the grinding cycle using the timed dosing function or by manually pressing the grind button for continuous grinding.

Maintenance

Regular cleaning and maintenance will ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your Eureka Mignon Silenzio grinder.

1. Cleaning Burrs

• Unplug the grinder from the power outlet.
• Remove the bean hopper.
• Using the bottom-burr adjust system, you can remove the top burr without losing your grind setting.
• Carefully brush away any accumulated coffee grounds from the burrs and grinding chamber using a stiff brush or vacuum cleaner.
• Reassemble the burrs and hopper, ensuring all parts are securely in place.

2. General Cleaning

• Wipe the exterior of the grinder with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the unit in water.
• Clean the grounds catch container and portafilter fork regularly with warm, soapy water and dry thoroughly.
