4. Setup and Installation
4.1 Unpacking
Carefully remove all packaging materials, including the base cushion and any adhesive tape. Inspect the freezer for any shipping damage. Report any damage to your retailer immediately.
4.2 Placement
- Place the freezer on a flat, stable surface strong enough to support the unit when fully loaded.
- Allow at least 4 inches (10 cm) of space between the back and sides of the freezer and any adjacent walls to ensure proper air circulation.
- Avoid placing the freezer in direct sunlight or near heat sources like stoves or heaters.
- Ensure the freezer is placed in a well-ventilated area.
4.3 Leveling the Freezer
The freezer is equipped with adjustable feet. Use these to level the unit by turning them clockwise or counter-clockwise until the freezer is stable and level. Proper leveling is crucial for efficient operation and to prevent the door from swinging open or closing improperly.

4.4 Initial Power-On
After placing and leveling the freezer, wait at least 24 hours before plugging it into a power outlet. This allows the refrigerant to settle, preventing potential damage to the cooling system.
4.5 Reversible Door Installation
The freezer door can be reversed to open from either the left or right side, depending on your space requirements. Refer to the detailed diagrams in the separate door reversal guide (if provided) or contact customer support for assistance with this procedure. This process typically involves removing hinges and reinstalling them on the opposite side.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Temperature Control
The freezer features a 7-level temperature control knob located inside the unit. Turn the knob to adjust the internal temperature. The settings correspond to different temperature ranges:
- Modes 1-2: Suitable for items like ice cream, maintaining a temperature around 6.8°F (-14°C).
- Modes 3-4: Ideal for seafood, maintaining a temperature around -0.4°F (-18°C).
- Modes 5-7: For quick freezing and storing items like beef, reaching temperatures down to -7.6°F (-22°C).
Adjust the setting based on the amount and type of food stored, as well as ambient room temperature. Higher numbers indicate colder temperatures.

5.2 Food Storage Guidelines
- Organize food items to allow for proper air circulation.
- Use airtight containers or freezer bags to prevent freezer burn and odor transfer.
- Avoid overloading the freezer, as this can hinder cooling efficiency.
- The freezer includes removable trays for flexible storage organization.

6. Maintenance
6.1 Cleaning
- Always unplug the freezer before cleaning.
- Clean the interior with a solution of mild soap and warm water. Rinse thoroughly and dry.
- Wipe the exterior with a soft cloth and mild detergent. For stainless steel surfaces, use a stainless steel cleaner.
- Regularly clean the condenser coils at the back of the unit to maintain efficiency.
6.2 Defrosting
This is a manual defrost freezer. Frost buildup can reduce cooling efficiency and storage capacity. Defrost the freezer when the frost layer reaches approximately 1/4 inch (0.6 cm) thick.
- Unplug the freezer from the power outlet.
- Remove all food items and store them in another freezer or cooler.
- Leave the door open to allow frost to melt naturally. Place towels at the bottom to absorb water.
- Once defrosted, clean and dry the interior thoroughly before plugging it back in and returning food items.
7. Troubleshooting
Before contacting customer service, review the following common issues and solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Freezer does not operate. | Not plugged in; circuit breaker tripped; temperature control set to "OFF". | Ensure plug is secure; reset circuit breaker; adjust temperature control. |
| Temperature is not cold enough. | Door not closed properly; excessive door openings; large amount of warm food added; poor ventilation; temperature control set too high. | Check door seal; reduce door openings; allow time for new food to cool; ensure proper clearance around unit; adjust temperature control to a colder setting. |
| Excessive frost buildup. | Door not sealed properly; frequent door openings; high humidity. | Check door gasket for damage; reduce door openings; defrost the unit. |
| Noises (gurgling, humming). | Normal refrigerant flow sounds; compressor operation. | These are normal operating sounds. Ensure the unit is level. |
