3. Initial Setup

Follow these steps to set up your NEO Tuya Zigbee Gateway:

  1. Power On: Connect the provided USB data cable to the gateway and then to a 5V/1A USB power adapter (not included) or a USB port. The gateway will power on.
  2. Connect to Network: Use an Ethernet RJ45 cable (not included) to connect the gateway's LAN port to a LAN port on your router. Ensure your phone is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your router.
  3. Download App: Download the Tuya Smart or Smart Life app from your mobile device's app store (available on App Store and Google Play).
  4. Add Device: Open the app, register or log in, and follow the in-app instructions to add the Zigbee Gateway. Ensure the gateway's LED indicator is in pairing mode (Red and Blue).

6.1 LED Indicator States

Understanding the LED indicator lights can help diagnose common issues:

Red and FlashingThe Zigbee hub is detecting the network. If the hub is successfully added to the app, this means a sub-device is being paired. Ensure the sub-device is in pairing mode.

OffThe Zigbee has been disconnected from the network and cannot be used. Please long press the reset button to re-add to the network.

  • Gateway not connecting to network: Ensure the Ethernet cable is securely connected to both the gateway and the router. Verify your router is functioning correctly and has an active internet connection. Try restarting both the gateway and the router.
  • Cannot add sub-devices: Ensure the gateway is in pairing mode (Red and Blue LED). Make sure the sub-device is also in its respective pairing mode. Check the distance between the sub-device and the gateway; try moving them closer.
  • Voice control not working: Confirm that the gateway is successfully linked to your Alexa or Google Assistant account within their respective apps. Check your internet connection and ensure your voice assistant device is online.
  • App not detecting gateway: Ensure your smartphone is connected to the same local area network (LAN) as the gateway. Restart the app and try adding the device again.
