Safety Information

Failure to follow these safety instructions can result in fire, electric shock, injury, or damage to the battery and other property.

  • Do not disassemble the battery pack. Disassembly can lead to internal damage, short circuits, and potential hazards.
  • Do not open, crush, or heat the battery above 70°C (158°F). High temperatures can cause internal pressure buildup and lead to fire or explosion.
  • Do not short circuit the positive (+) and negative (-) terminals with metal objects. This can cause severe sparks, heat, and damage to the battery.
  • Do not charge the battery if abnormal conditions are detected, such as swelling, leakage, or unusual heat. Immediately disconnect the battery if any abnormalities are observed.
  • Use only the specified special charger provided with the battery or a charger explicitly approved for LiFePO4 batteries with the correct voltage and current ratings.
  • Keep the battery away from water, fire, and corrosive substances.
  • Ensure proper ventilation when charging or discharging the battery.
  • Store the battery in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight.
  • Keep out of reach of children.
  • Refer to local regulations for proper disposal of lithium batteries.

Setup

Unpacking and Inspection:

Upon receiving your battery, carefully unpack it and inspect for any visible damage. If any damage is found, contact your supplier immediately.

Initial Charge:

It is recommended to fully charge the battery before its first use. Connect the provided charger to a suitable power outlet and then connect the charger's output to the battery terminals. Ensure correct polarity (+ to + and - to -). The charging process will be indicated by the charger's status light or the battery's display.

Mounting and Connection:

Mount the battery in a secure, well-ventilated location. Ensure that the battery is protected from physical damage and extreme temperatures. Connect the battery to your system (e.g., camping car, golf cart, solar inverter) using appropriate gauge cables and connectors. Always ensure correct polarity. It is recommended to install an appropriate fuse or circuit breaker in the positive line close to the battery.

Charging:

Connect the charger to the battery terminals, ensuring correct polarity. The battery's internal Battery Management System (BMS) will manage the charging process, protecting against overcharge. Disconnect the charger once the battery is fully charged or if the display indicates 100%.

Discharging:

Connect your load to the battery terminals, observing correct polarity. The BMS will protect the battery from over-discharge. It is recommended to avoid consistently discharging the battery to its absolute minimum voltage to maximize cycle life.

Maintenance

Regular Inspection:

Periodically inspect the battery terminals for corrosion or loose connections. Ensure the battery casing is clean and free from damage. Clean terminals with a wire brush if necessary and ensure connections are tight.

Storage:

If storing the battery for an extended period, ensure it is charged to approximately 50-70% of its capacity. Store in a cool, dry place between -20°C and 45°C. Avoid storing in direct sunlight or extreme temperatures. Recharge the battery every 3-6 months during long-term storage to prevent deep discharge.

Cleaning:

Clean the battery casing with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners. Ensure no moisture enters the terminals or display area.

Troubleshooting

  • Battery not charging:
    • Check charger connection and power supply.
    • Verify charger is compatible and functioning correctly.
    • Ensure battery terminals are clean and connections are secure.
    • If the battery is deeply discharged, it might require a specific recovery charge from a compatible charger.
  • Battery not providing power:
    • Check connections to the load.
    • Verify the load is within the battery's continuous discharge current limit (50A).
    • Check the battery's state of charge on the display. If low, recharge the battery.
    • The internal BMS may have activated protection (e.g., over-discharge, over-current, over-temperature). Disconnect the load, allow the battery to rest, and then attempt to reconnect.
  • Unusual heat or smell:
    • Immediately disconnect the battery from all loads and chargers.
    • Move the battery to a safe, non-flammable area.
    • Contact customer support.
