3. Setup
3.1. Battery Installation
The meter requires 3 x 1.5V AAA batteries. To install or replace batteries:
- Ensure the meter is turned OFF and disconnect all test leads from the input terminals.
- Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the meter.
- Use a screwdriver to loosen the screw(s) on the battery cover.
- Remove the cover and insert the batteries, observing correct polarity (+/-).
- Replace the battery cover and secure it with the screw(s).

3.2. Connecting Test Leads
For voltage, resistance, capacitance, and continuity measurements, connect the test leads as follows:
- Insert the black test lead into the "COM" (common) input terminal.
- Insert the red test lead into the "INPUT" terminal.

4. Operating Instructions
Before any measurement, ensure the meter is clean and free from damage. Select the appropriate function using the rotary switch.
4.1. AC/DC Current Measurement (Clamp Jaw)
- Rotate the switch to the "60A/600A/1000A" position (AC or DC current symbol).
- Press the "FUNC" button to select between AC or DC current if necessary.
- Press the anti-slip trigger to open the clamp jaw.
- Enclose only one conductor (not a power cord with multiple wires) within the clamp jaw.
- Release the trigger to close the jaw. The current reading will appear on the LCD.

Figure 4.1: The PM2128 clamp meter in use, measuring current by clamping around a single conductor.
4.2. AC/DC Voltage Measurement
- Connect the test leads as described in Section 3.2.
- Rotate the switch to the "V" position (Voltage symbol).
- Press the "FUNC" button to select between AC or DC voltage.
- Touch the red and black test probes to the test points of the circuit.
- The voltage reading will be displayed.
4.3. Resistance Measurement
- Connect the test leads as described in Section 3.2.
- Rotate the switch to the "Ω" position (Resistance symbol).
- Ensure the circuit under test is de-energized.
- Touch the test probes across the component or circuit to measure resistance.
- The resistance reading will be displayed.
4.4. Continuity Test
- Connect the test leads as described in Section 3.2.
- Rotate the switch to the "Ω" position (Resistance symbol).
- Press the "FUNC" button until the continuity symbol (♫) appears on the display.
- Ensure the circuit under test is de-energized.
- Touch the test probes across the component or circuit. A continuous beep indicates continuity.
4.5. Non-Contact Voltage (NCV) Detection
- Rotate the switch to the "NCV" position.
- Move the Non-contact Detection Sensing Area (top of the clamp jaw) close to the conductor or outlet.
