1. Introduction

The SSGNRY DSO-510 is a compact and portable 2-in-1 device designed for electronic testing and signal generation. It integrates the functionalities of a digital oscilloscope and a Direct Digital Synthesis (DDS) signal generator, making it suitable for various applications including automotive diagnostics, educational purposes, and general electronics troubleshooting.

Key features include a 10MHz bandwidth, 48MS/s real-time sampling rate, and a 2.8-inch TFT display for clear waveform visualization. The device supports multiple trigger functions and can measure voltages up to ±400V. Its signal generator component offers 14 types of waveforms with adjustable parameters, providing flexibility for diverse testing needs.

2. What's in the Box

Upon unboxing your SSGNRY DSO-510, please verify that all the following components are included:

  • 1 x DSO-510 Main Unit
  • 1 x P6100 Oscilloscope Probe
  • 1 x Power Adapter
  • 1 x Alligator Clip Probe
  • 1 x USB Charging Cable (Type-C)

3. Setup

3.1 Charging the Device

Before initial use, ensure the DSO-510 is fully charged. Connect the provided USB Type-C charging cable to the device's charging port and the other end to a 5V/1A USB power adapter. The device features a 1000mAh lithium battery. A full charge typically takes a few hours.

3.2 Connecting Probes

For oscilloscope measurements, connect the P6100 probe to the MCX interface labeled 'DSO' on the device. For signal generation, connect the alligator clip probe or other suitable cable to the 'DDS' output port.

3.3 Initial Power On

Press and hold the power button to turn on the device. The main interface will appear. The device is ready for operation.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Oscilloscope Mode

The DSO-510 functions as a single-channel handheld oscilloscope with a 10MHz bandwidth and a 48MS/s real-time sampling rate. It offers comprehensive trigger functions and can measure a wide range of voltages.

  • Vertical Sensitivity: 10mV/Div - 20V/Div (in 1-2-5 steps)
  • Time Base Range: 50ns/Div - 20s/Div (in 1-2-5 steps)

  • Trigger Methods: Auto / Normal / Single
  • Coupling Methods: AC/DC

To perform an automatic measurement, press and hold the AUTO button. This function quickly performs baseline calibration and displays the measurement waveform without complex manual adjustments.

The device also supports features such as afterglow, trigger level display, waveform shift, and waveform saving for secondary analysis.

4.2 DDS Signal Generator Mode

The integrated DDS signal generator offers versatile functions for producing various waveforms with adjustable parameters.

  • Frequency Range: 0-50KHz
  • Duty Cycle: 0-100% (for rectangular and sawtooth waves)
  • Amplitude: 0.1-3.0V
  • Supported Waveforms: Sine wave, rectangular wave, sawtooth wave, half wave, full wave, step wave, anti step wave, exponential rise, exponential drop, DC signal, multi tone, Sink pulse, Lorentz wave.

Navigate to the Signal Generator mode from the main menu to select your desired waveform and adjust its frequency, duty cycle, and amplitude using the device's controls.

5. Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your DSO-510, follow these maintenance guidelines:

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the device. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the display or casing.
  • Storage: Store the device in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Battery Care: For extended storage, charge the lithium battery to approximately 50% every few months to prevent deep discharge and prolong battery life.
  • Probe Care: Handle probes carefully. Avoid bending or twisting the cables excessively. Clean probe tips gently if necessary.

6. Troubleshooting

This section addresses common issues you might encounter with your DSO-510. If the problem persists, please contact customer support.

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Device does not power on. Low battery or faulty charging cable/adapter. Charge the device for at least 30 minutes. Try a different USB cable and adapter.
No waveform displayed in Oscilloscope mode. Probe not connected correctly, signal too weak/strong, or incorrect settings. Ensure probe is securely connected. Use the AUTO function. Adjust vertical sensitivity (V/Div) and time base (S/Div) settings. Check probe attenuation (X1/X10).
Signal generator output is incorrect. Incorrect waveform selected, or frequency/amplitude/duty cycle settings are wrong. Verify the selected waveform type. Adjust frequency, amplitude, and duty cycle parameters as needed. Ensure the output cable is properly connected.
Screen is frozen or unresponsive. Software glitch or temporary error. Perform a soft reset by holding down the power button until the device turns off, then restart.
