Operating Instructions
1. Leak Detection and Alerts
When a WD61 sensor detects water (either drip or flood), it will trigger its local 120dB alarm.
Simultaneously, the sensor sends a signal to the W13 Gateway.
The gateway will sound its alarm (up to 100dB) and send a real-time push notification to your smartphone via the TUYA Smart App.

2. Adjusting Volume and Ringtones
Sensor Volume: The WD61 sensor has 4 adjustable volume levels (0-120dB). Press the "TEST" button on the sensor to cycle through volume levels. "DiDiDiDi" indicates maximum volume, "DiDiDi" is 3 levels, "DiDi" is 2 levels, and "Di" is mute (flashing light only).

This feature allows the gateway to play distinct sounds for alarms from different detectors.
3. Smart Control via TUYA App
The TUYA Smart App provides comprehensive control and monitoring features:
- Receive remote alerts and notifications.
- Control on/off functions for the system.
- Customize sensor and gateway names for easy identification.
- Adjust volume and select ringtones for the gateway.
- View history records of triggered alarms.
Maintenance
1. Battery Replacement (WD61 Sensors)
The WD61 sensors are powered by 2 AAA alkaline batteries. When the battery level is low, you may receive a low battery alert via the TUYA Smart App.
To replace batteries, gently open the sensor casing, remove the old batteries, and insert new AAA batteries, observing the correct polarity. Close the casing securely.
2. Cleaning
Wipe the exterior of the gateway and sensors with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
Ensure the water detection probes on the sensors are clean and free from debris to maintain accurate detection.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| No app notifications | Gateway not connected to WiFi; App notification settings disabled; Phone not connected to internet. | Check gateway's WiFi connection (2.4GHz only). Ensure TUYA Smart App notifications are enabled in both the app and your phone's system settings. Verify phone's internet connection. |
| Sensor not alarming/detecting | Low battery; Sensor probes are dirty; Sensor is out of range. | Replace AAA batteries. Clean sensor probes. Move sensor closer to the gateway (within 328ft/100m). |
| Gateway not alarming | Volume set to mute; Gateway not paired with sensor; Gateway not powered. | Adjust gateway volume in TUYA Smart App. Ensure sensors are correctly paired. Check power connection to the gateway. |
| Cannot connect gateway to 5GHz WiFi | Gateway only supports 2.4GHz WiFi. | Connect your smartphone and gateway to a 2.4GHz WiFi network. If your router is dual-band, ensure the 2.4GHz band is enabled and you are connected to it. |
| Gateway (W13) not expanding WD60 sensors | The W13 Gateway is designed to only support WD61 model sensors. | Ensure you are using WD61 model sensors with this gateway. WD60 sensors are not compatible. |
