SKIL Table Saw Folding Stand (SFS0001) Instruction Manual

Model: SFS0001

1. Introduction

This manual provides detailed instructions for the safe and efficient setup, operation, and maintenance of your SKIL Table Saw Folding Stand. Please read this manual thoroughly before assembly and use to ensure proper functionality and safety.

The SKIL Folding Saw Stand is designed for use with the SKIL 8-1/4 In. Table Saw (TS6308-00) and SKIL 5-1/2 In. Flooring Saw. Its folding design allows for quick, tool-free setup and offers two height positions for various working conditions. A quick-install dust bag is also included to help maintain a clean workspace.

2. Setup and Assembly

2.1. Unboxing and Initial Inspection

Carefully open the packaging and remove all components. Inspect all parts for any damage that may have occurred during shipping. Ensure all listed components are present before proceeding with assembly.

The packaging includes various components essential for the stand's operation and safety. These typically include:

  • Blade Guards (if included with the saw, not the stand itself)
  • Anti-Kickback Guard / Riving Knife (if included with the saw, not the stand itself)
  • Push Stick (for safe material feeding)
  • Dust Collection Elbow (for connecting to a dust collection system)
  • Miter Adjustment Tool (if included with the saw, not the stand itself)
  • Quick-Install Dust Bag (attaches to the stand for debris collection)

2.3. Unfolding the Stand Legs

To unfold the stand, locate the red buttons on the legs. Press these buttons and extend the legs outwards until they lock into place. Ensure all four legs are fully extended and stable before placing any equipment on the stand.

3. Operating the Stand

3.1. Height Adjustment

The stand features two height positions for user comfort and versatility. To adjust the height, locate the adjustment mechanisms on the legs and follow the instructions provided with your table saw for specific height settings.

3.2. Fence Adjustment

The table saw's fence (not part of the stand, but supported by it) can be adjusted using a rack and pinion system for precise cuts. Refer to your table saw's manual for detailed instructions on fence calibration and use.

3.3. Using the Push Stick

Always use the provided push stick when feeding material into the saw, especially for narrow cuts. This ensures your hands remain safely away from the blade. The push stick can be stored on the stand when not in use.

4. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your folding stand. Keep the stand clean from sawdust and debris, especially around the folding mechanisms and leg adjustments. The quick-install dust bag should be emptied regularly to prevent buildup.

5. Troubleshooting

5.1. Missing or Loose Hardware

If you encounter any missing or loose hardware, such as a bolt for the push stick holder as observed during initial setup, check the packaging thoroughly. If a part is genuinely missing or damaged, contact SKIL customer support for replacement parts. Do not operate the stand with missing or damaged components.
