This image displays the Casio F-91WB Series Digital Watch, highlighting its clean white resin case and band. The digital display clearly shows the time, day of the week, and date. Key function labels such as 'MODE', 'LIGHT', and 'ALARM ON/OFF' are visible around the display, along with 'WR' indicating water resistance.
Setup
- Initial Power-On: Your watch comes pre-installed with a battery and should be operational upon arrival. If the display is blank, ensure the battery is correctly seated or consider replacement if the watch is old.
- Setting Time and Date:
- Press the MODE button (left-bottom) repeatedly until the time setting screen appears (usually indicated by flashing digits).
- Use the ALARM ON/OFF button (right-bottom) to adjust the flashing value (hours, minutes, seconds, month, day, day of week).
- Press the LIGHT button (left-top) to cycle between the values you wish to set.
- Once all values are set, press the MODE button again to exit the setting mode.
- The watch supports both 12-hour and 24-hour formats. Toggle between them by pressing the ALARM ON/OFF button while in the normal timekeeping mode.
- The auto-calendar function is pre-set through February, ensuring accurate date tracking without manual adjustments for most months.
- Adjusting the Band: The bio-based resin band features an adjustable buckle closure. Adjust the band to ensure a comfortable and secure fit on your wrist.
Operating Your Watch
- Time Display: In normal timekeeping mode, the watch displays the current time, day of the week, and date.
- LED Backlight: Press the LIGHT button (left-top) to illuminate the display with a green LED for enhanced visibility in low-light conditions.
- Stopwatch Function:
- From normal timekeeping mode, press the MODE button until 'ST' (Stopwatch) appears on the display.
- Press the ALARM ON/OFF button to start and stop the stopwatch.
- While the stopwatch is stopped, press the LIGHT button to reset it to zero.
- The stopwatch measures elapsed time, split time, and first/second place times with 1/100-second accuracy.
- Daily Alarm and Hourly Time Signal:
- From normal timekeeping mode, press the MODE button until 'AL' (Alarm) appears on the display.
- To set the alarm time, use the LIGHT button to select hours or minutes, and the ALARM ON/OFF button to adjust the values.
- To activate or deactivate the daily alarm, press the ALARM ON/OFF button while in the alarm mode. An alarm indicator will appear on the display when active.
- To activate or deactivate the hourly time signal, press the LIGHT button while in the alarm mode. A chime indicator will appear when active.
- Water Resistance (WR): The watch is water resistant. This means it is suitable for everyday use and can withstand splashes or brief immersion in water. However, it is not recommended for swimming or diving. Avoid pressing buttons while the watch is submerged in water.
Maintenance
- Cleaning: Regularly wipe the watch case and band with a soft, dry cloth to remove dirt and moisture. For stubborn grime, a slightly damp cloth can be used, followed by immediate drying. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners, as these can damage the resin material.
- Battery Replacement: The watch is powered by a CR2016 battery, offering an approximate 7-year battery life. When the display becomes dim or functions cease, it indicates a low battery. Battery replacement should ideally be performed by a qualified watch technician to ensure proper sealing and water resistance.
- Band Care: The bio-based resin band is designed for durability. While resistant to many elements, prolonged exposure to direct sunlight or extreme temperatures may affect its longevity or cause slight discoloration over time. Clean the band regularly to help maintain its appearance.
Troubleshooting
- Blank or Dim Display:
- Check if the battery needs replacement.
- Ensure the watch has not been exposed to extreme temperatures.
- Incorrect Time or Date:
- Follow the 'Setting Time and Date' instructions in the Setup section to re-adjust.
- Alarm Not Sounding:
- Verify that the daily alarm is activated (check for the alarm indicator on the display).
- Ensure the hourly time signal is not interfering if both are set.
- Water Inside the Watch:
- If you notice moisture or condensation inside the watch, cease use immediately and seek professional service. This indicates a breach in the water resistance.
