Four-step installation guide for the HG Power Extractor Fan. Step 1: Drill a hole (153-160mm). Step 2: Insert fan, ensuring check valve is vertical. Step 3: Mark and install screws. Step 4: Connect power.

Figure 4: Step-by-step installation guide.

  1. Prepare the Opening: Drill a hole in the wall with a recommended size of 153-160 mm. Ensure the chosen location allows for proper ventilation and access for maintenance.
  2. Insert the Fan: Carefully insert the extractor fan into the prepared opening. Ensure the check valve (backdraft damper) remains in a vertical orientation for proper function.
  3. Secure the Fan: Mark the bolt hole positions on the wall. Drill pilot holes if necessary, then install the screws to securely fasten the exhaust fan to the wall.
  4. Connect Power: Once the fan is securely mounted, connect the power supply using the provided EU plug. Ensure the connection is firm and safe.

Note: For best results and proper function of the backdraft damper, vertical wall installation is recommended. Ceiling mounting may require dismantling the check valve, which could affect its ability to prevent backdrafts, insects, and dust.

Operating Instructions

The HG Power FG-HVLSFAN150 Extractor Fan is designed for straightforward operation:

  • Power On/Off: Connect the fan to a suitable power outlet. Use the integrated rocker switch on the power cable to turn the fan ON or OFF.
  • Airflow: When the fan is operating, it will draw air from the indoor space and expel it outdoors. The backdraft damper will automatically open to allow airflow and close when the fan is off to prevent unwanted ingress.

Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your extractor fan:

  • Disconnect Power: Always disconnect the fan from the power supply before any cleaning or maintenance.
  • Regular Cleaning: It is recommended to clean dust and oil residue from inside the fan and its blades regularly. The removable design facilitates this process.
  • Exterior Cleaning: Wipe the exterior surfaces with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Check for Obstructions: Periodically check the intake and exhaust vents for any blockages that might impede airflow.
