  2. Attach Discharge Hose: Select the appropriate adapter for your hose. The pump comes with three plastic adapters: GHT 3/4", NPT 1", and 1-1/2" male thread connectors. For maximum flow rate, use the 1-1/2" discharge port. For standard garden hoses, use the GHT 3/4" or NPT 1" adapter. Secure the chosen adapter to the pump's discharge port by screwing it on. Then, attach your discharge hose to the adapter and secure it with a hose clamp if necessary.

  4. Monitor Operation: Ensure the pump remains submerged during operation. The low suction base allows the pump to remove water down to 0.4 inches, but continuous dry running will damage the motor. The pump's thermal protection will automatically shut it off if it overheats and will restart after cooling down.

  5. Stop the Pump: To stop the pump, unplug the power cord from the electrical outlet.

Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your pump.

  • Cleaning: After each use, especially when pumping dirty water, rinse the pump thoroughly with clean water. Inspect the bottom screen for any accumulated debris and clean it to prevent blockages.
  • Storage: Store the pump in a dry, frost-free location when not in use. Ensure the pump is completely drained of water before storage to prevent freezing damage.
  • Power Cord Inspection: Periodically check the power cord for cuts, abrasions, or other damage. Replace damaged cords immediately by a qualified technician.
  • Oil-Filled Seal Structure: The pump features an oil-filled seal structure for extended durability. This typically does not require user maintenance.
