4.6 Battery Charging and Installation

5. Operating Instructions
Understand the controls and functions of your RX800 Plus for an optimal riding experience.
5.1 Powering On/Off
Press and hold the power button on the display unit to turn the bike's electrical system on or off.
5.2 Display Functions
The LCD display shows speed, battery level, pedal assist level, and trip distance. Refer to the separate display manual for detailed functions and settings.
5.3 Pedal Assist System (PAS)
The RX800 Plus features a Pedelec system. Use the '+' and '-' buttons on the control panel to select your desired pedal assist level (typically 0-5). Level 0 provides no motor assistance, while higher levels provide more power.
5.4 Gear Shifting
Your bike is equipped with a 7-speed derailleur system and a twist grip shifter. Rotate the grip to change gears. Shift to a lower gear for climbing hills and a higher gear for flat terrain or downhill riding.
5.5 Braking
The bike features hydraulic disc brakes for reliable stopping power. Apply both front and rear brakes simultaneously for controlled deceleration. Avoid sudden, hard braking, especially with the front brake, to prevent skidding.

6. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and safety of your electric bike.
6.1 Cleaning
Clean your bike regularly with a damp cloth and mild soap. Avoid using high-pressure washers directly on electrical components or bearings.
6.2 Tire Care
Check tire pressure weekly and inflate as needed. Inspect tires for cuts, punctures, or excessive wear.
6.3 Brake System
Periodically check brake pads for wear. If braking performance decreases, inspect the hydraulic fluid level and consider professional servicing.
6.4 Chain Lubrication
Lubricate the chain every 100-200 km or after riding in wet conditions. Use a bicycle-specific chain lubricant.
6.5 Battery Care
Store the battery in a cool, dry place when not in use. If storing for extended periods, charge it to 50-70% every 1-2 months.
6.6 Fastener Checks
Regularly check all bolts and screws for tightness, especially on critical components like handlebars, seat post, and wheels.
7. Troubleshooting
Here are some common issues and their potential solutions:
- Bike not powering on: Check battery connection, ensure battery is charged, and verify display cable connections.
- Motor not assisting: Ensure PAS level is not 0. Check brake levers; some e-bikes cut motor power if brakes are engaged. Verify all electrical connections.
- Brakes feel spongy: This may indicate air in the hydraulic lines or worn pads. Professional servicing is recommended.
- Gears skipping: Check for bent derailleur hanger or improperly adjusted derailleur cables.
If you encounter issues not listed here or cannot resolve a problem, please contact LANKELEISI customer support.
