Setup

Unfolding the Scooter

  1. Place the scooter on a flat surface.
  2. Release the folding mechanism latch, typically located near the base of the handlebar stem.
  3. Carefully lift the handlebar stem until it locks into the upright position. Ensure the locking mechanism is fully engaged.
  4. Adjust the handlebar height if applicable (this model has a fixed handlebar).

Initial Charge

Before first use, fully charge the scooter's battery.

  1. Locate the charging port, usually on the side of the deck.
  2. Connect the charger to the scooter, then plug the charger into a power outlet.
  3. The indicator light on the charger will change (e.g., from red to green) when charging is complete.
  4. Disconnect the charger once fully charged.

For enhanced features, download and connect the FREEBOY J03 App.

  1. Download the "FREEBOY Electric Scooters" app from your smartphone's app store (compatible with iPhones and Android).
  2. Turn on the scooter.
  3. Open the app and follow the on-screen instructions to pair your scooter via Bluetooth.
  4. Through the app, you can lock your scooter, customize speed settings, and activate cruise control.

Operating Instructions

Power On/Off

  • To power on: Press and hold the power button on the handlebar display.
  • To power off: Press and hold the power button again until the display turns off.

Riding the Scooter

  1. Place one foot firmly on the deck.
  2. Push off with your other foot to gain initial momentum.
  3. Once moving, gently press the accelerator lever (throttle) to engage the motor.
  4. Place your second foot on the deck.
  5. Maintain balance and steer by leaning and turning the handlebars.

Speed Modes

The scooter offers three speed modes:

  • Eco Mode (L): Approximately 10 Mph (16 km/h) - For energy saving and beginners.
  • Drive Mode (D): Approximately 15 Mph (24 km/h) - Standard commuting speed.
  • Sport Mode (S): Approximately 19 Mph (30 km/h) - Maximum performance.

To switch modes: Briefly press the power button while the scooter is on. The LED display will indicate the current mode.

Braking

The scooter features a dual braking system:

  • Electronic Brake: Activated by the brake lever on the handlebar.
  • Disc Brake: Activated by the same brake lever, providing mechanical stopping power to the rear wheel.

To brake: Gently squeeze the brake lever. Apply gradual pressure for smooth stops.

Cruise Control

To activate cruise control: Maintain a constant speed for a few seconds until you hear a beep. The scooter will then maintain this speed automatically.

To deactivate cruise control: Press the brake lever or the accelerator.

Maintenance

Cleaning

Wipe the scooter with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use high-pressure water jets or corrosive cleaners.

Battery Care

  • Charge the battery regularly, even if not in use, to prolong its lifespan.
  • Avoid completely draining the battery.
  • Store the scooter in a cool, dry place when not in use, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.

Tire Inspection
