3. Safety Instructions

Read all safety instructions before operating the solar panel system. Failure to follow these instructions may result in electric shock, fire, or serious injury.

  • Do not attempt to disassemble, repair, or modify the solar panel.
  • Avoid exposing the solar panel to open flames or extreme heat.
  • Keep the solar panel away from water sources during operation, despite its IP67 rating, to prevent accidental damage to connected devices.
  • Ensure all connections are secure and correct before use. Incorrect connections can cause damage to the panel or connected devices.
  • Do not step on or place heavy objects on the solar panel.
  • Keep out of reach of children and pets.
  • Handle the panel with care to avoid dropping or impact.
  • Operate in well-ventilated areas.

4. Setup

Follow these steps to set up your Greenmagic Portable Solar Panel system:

  1. Unfold the Panels: Carefully unfold both 400W solar panels on a flat, stable surface in an area with direct sunlight.
  2. Position for Sunlight: Extend the integrated kickstands on each panel. Adjust the angle of the panels (30°, 40°, 50°, or 80°) to face the sun directly for maximum efficiency. The sun's position changes throughout the day and seasons, so periodic adjustment may be necessary.
  3. Connect Cables: Locate the built-in MC4 cables from each 400W panel. Use the provided MC4 Multi-Connectors to XT60 / Anderson Connector / DC79*09mm Connector to match the input port of your power station or battery.
  4. Connect to Power Station: Plug the appropriate connector into your power station or battery's solar input port. Ensure the connection is firm.
  5. Verify Charging: Check your power station's display to confirm that it is receiving a charge from the solar panels.

5. Operating Instructions

Once set up, operating your solar panels is straightforward:

  • Sunlight Exposure: Ensure the panels remain in direct sunlight throughout the charging period. Any shading, even partial, can significantly reduce efficiency.
  • Angle Adjustment: Periodically check and adjust the panel angle to maintain optimal alignment with the sun as its position changes.
  • Monitoring: Monitor your power station's input to ensure consistent charging.
  • Disconnection: When finished charging or when moving the panels, disconnect the cables from the power station first, then fold the panels.

6. Maintenance

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and efficiency of your solar panels:

  • Cleaning: Regularly clean the surface of the solar panels with a soft, damp cloth to remove dust, dirt, and debris. Avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals.
  • Inspection: Periodically inspect the cables and connectors for any signs of wear, damage, or corrosion. Replace any damaged components immediately.
  • Storage: When not in use, fold the solar panels and store them in a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Use the carrying handles for easy transport.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your solar panel system, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
No power output / Not chargingNo direct sunlight; Shading on panels; Loose or incorrect connections; Damaged cables/connectors; Incompatible power station.Relocate panels to direct sunlight; Remove any shading; Check all cable connections for tightness and correctness; Inspect cables for damage and replace if necessary; Ensure your power station is compatible with the panel's voltage and connector type.
Low power output / Slow chargingPartial shading; Incorrect panel angle; Dirty panel surface; Overcast weather; Low sun angle (early morning/late afternoon).Ensure panels are fully exposed to sun; Adjust panel angle for optimal sun alignment; Clean panel surface; Understand that output will be lower in non-ideal weather or sun conditions.
Panel overheatingLack of ventilation; Extreme ambient temperatures.Ensure adequate airflow around the panels; Avoid placing panels on heat-absorbing surfaces; Operate within recommended temperature ranges.
