2. Safety Information

4. Setup
4.1. Attaching the Battery
This rivet gun is compatible with Makita 18V batteries (e.g., BL1820, BL1830, BL1840, BL1850). To attach the battery, align the battery pack with the tool's base and slide it in until it clicks securely into place.

4.2. Changing Nose Pieces
The tool features a tool-free design for changing nose pieces. Select the appropriate nose piece for the rivet size you intend to use (1/8", 5/32", or 3/16").
- Unscrew the current nose piece from the tool.
- Select the desired nose piece and screw it onto the tool until it is hand-tight.
- Ensure the nose piece is securely fastened before operation.

5. Operating Instructions
5.1. Basic Operation
Follow these steps for proper rivet installation:
- Select Rivet and Nose Piece: Choose the correct size rivet and install the corresponding nose piece on the rivet gun.
- Insert Rivet: Insert the rivet into the nose piece of the tool.
- Position Tool: Place the rivet into the pre-drilled hole in your workpiece. Ensure the tool is held firmly and perpendicular to the surface.
- Activate Tool: Press the trigger to activate the tool. The tool will pull the rivet, setting it in place.
- Eject Mandrel: Once the rivet is set, the tool will automatically eject the rivet mandrel. If the mandrel does not eject automatically, refer to the control mechanism below.

5.2. Control Mechanism
The rivet gun features a three-position control mechanism for optimal operation:
- Left Side (Auto Fastening): In this position, the tool automatically pulls and ejects rivets. This is the standard operating mode for stable rivet placement.
- Middle (Locked): This position locks the mechanism for added stability and safety when not in use or during transport.
- Right Side (Manual Ejection): If rivets are not ejecting correctly in auto mode, hold the on/off switch down continuously in this position to ensure the mandrel is fully ejected.

5.3. LED Light
The integrated LED light illuminates the work area, improving visibility in dim settings and ensuring safe and efficient use.

6. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your rivet gun.
- Cleaning: After each use, wipe down the tool with a clean, dry cloth to remove dust and debris. Do not use harsh chemicals or solvents.
- Nose Piece Inspection: Periodically inspect the nose pieces for wear or damage. Replace them if necessary.
- Storage: Store the tool in a dry, secure location away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Remove the battery pack before storage.
- Internal Cleaning (if jammed): If a rivet mandrel jams inside the tool, it may require partial disassembly to remove. Refer to troubleshooting for guidance.
