Setup Guide

1. Initial Camera Charging

Before installation, fully charge both N1 cameras using the provided USB-A to USB-C charging cable. The charging port is located at the bottom of each camera, protected by a rubber plug. A full charge can provide up to 210 days of battery life under optimal conditions.

2. HomeStation Connection

  1. Connect the HomeStation to a power outlet using the provided power adapter.
  2. Connect the HomeStation to your home router using the provided RJ45 Ethernet cable. The HomeStation requires a wired internet connection to function.
  3. Observe the indicator light on the front of the HomeStation. It will indicate when the power is on and when it's successfully connected to the network.

3. App Installation and Camera Pairing

  1. Download the "Baseus Security" app from the Google Play Store (for Android) or the Apple App Store (for iOS).
  2. Follow the in-app instructions to create an account and add your H1 HomeStation.
  3. Once the HomeStation is added, proceed to add each N1 camera by following the app's pairing process. This typically involves pressing a sync button on the camera and confirming in the app.

4. Camera Mounting

Use the provided screw mounts and screw pack to install the cameras in desired locations. The mounting template can assist in drilling pilot holes accurately. Ensure cameras are placed within Wi-Fi range of the HomeStation for optimal performance. The cameras are weather-resistant (IP67) for outdoor use.

Operating Instructions

1. Live View and Recording

  • Open the "Baseus Security" app.
  • Select a camera from the device list to view its live feed.
  • Use the on-screen controls to:
    • Record: Manually start/stop video recording.
    • Capture: Take a snapshot of the live feed.
    • Mute: Mute audio from the camera.
    • Full Screen: View the feed in full-screen mode.

2. Two-Way Audio

While in live view, press and hold the "Hold & Speak" button to speak through the camera's speaker. Release the button to listen. This feature is useful for communicating with visitors or deterring intruders.

3. Motion Detection

Access "Motion Detection" settings from the camera settings menu:

  • Enable/Disable: Toggle motion detection on or off.
  • Detection Sensitivity: Adjust the sensitivity level (1-5) to minimize false alerts.
  • Activity Zone: Define specific areas within the camera's view where motion detection should be active. This helps to ignore irrelevant movements (e.g., street traffic).
  • Detection Type: Choose between detecting "All" motion or specifically "Human" motion for more precise alerts.

4. Night Vision and Spotlight

In "Video Settings", configure night vision options:

  • B&W Night Vision: Infrared (IR) LED turns on when motion is detected at night for black and white footage.
  • Spotlight Night Vision: The built-in spotlight turns on with motion detection, enabling color night vision.
  • Turn Off: Disable both IR LED and spotlight.

5. Notifications

Manage how you receive alerts in "Notifications" settings:

  • Most Efficient: Receive notifications without delay (text only).
  • Include Thumbnail: Get full notifications including text and a thumbnail image of the event.

6. Event Playback

All recorded events are stored locally on the HomeStation. Access the "Events" tab in the app to review past recordings. You can filter events by date and camera.

Maintenance

1. Battery Charging

The N1 cameras are battery-powered and require periodic recharging. The app's "Power Manager" section displays the current battery level. When the battery is low, remove the camera from its mount and charge it using the USB-C cable. The 210-day battery life is based on 10 seconds of video per recording, 30 recordings per day; actual life may vary with usage frequency.

2. Cleaning

Regularly clean the camera lens with a soft, dry cloth to ensure clear image quality. For outdoor cameras, periodically check for debris or obstructions that might block the view or interfere with sensors.

3. Storage Expansion

The H1 HomeStation has 16GB of built-in storage. To expand storage up to 16TB, you can install an external hard drive (not included) into the designated slot on the HomeStation. Refer to the Quick Start Guide for detailed installation steps for the hard drive.

Troubleshooting

  • Camera Offline: Ensure the camera is charged and within range of the HomeStation. Check the HomeStation's internet connection.
  • No Motion Detection: Verify that motion detection is enabled in the app settings and that the activity zone is correctly configured. Adjust sensitivity if needed.
  • Poor Image Quality: Clean the camera lens. Ensure there are no obstructions. Check the camera's placement for optimal lighting conditions.
  • App Issues: Ensure your "Baseus Security" app is updated to the latest version. Restart the app or your mobile device if problems persist.
  • No 24/7 Recording: Note that the N1 2-Cam Kit is battery-powered and designed to record only when motion is detected to conserve battery life. It does not support 24/7 continuous recording.
