Setup and Installation

The T3230/T3231 Digital Time Delay Relay is designed for panel mounting. Ensure the power supply matches the relay's voltage (e.g., DC 12V for this model) before connecting. Incorrect voltage can damage the device.

  1. Mounting: Cut an opening of 71mm x 40mm in your panel. Insert the relay into the opening and secure it using the integrated clips or mounting hardware (if included).
  2. Wiring: Connect the power supply to the designated input terminals. Connect the load (device to be controlled) to the relay's output terminals. Refer to the wiring diagram usually printed on the device or included in the packaging for specific connections. Ensure all connections are secure and insulated.
  3. Power On: Apply power to the relay. The LED display should illuminate.

Operating Instructions

The relay features two main setting modes: Time Setting and Parameter Setting. The module automatically saves data after 6 seconds of inactivity in any setting mode.

1. Time Setting Mode (T1 and T2)

  1. Press the SET button once to enter the Time Setting Mode. The digital display will flash, indicating that the time values can be adjusted.
  2. Use the Up (▲) and Down (▼) buttons to adjust the values for Time T1 and Time T2. T1 typically represents the ON duration or initial delay, and T2 represents the OFF duration or subsequent delay, depending on the selected operating mode (P1).
  3. After setting the desired time values, wait for approximately 6 seconds. The module will automatically save the settings and exit the Time Setting Mode.

2. Parameter Setting Mode (P0 and P1)

This mode allows you to configure the timing unit (seconds, minutes, hours) and the operational logic of the relay.

  1. Press and hold the SET button for a few seconds to enter the Parameter Setting Mode. The display will show "P0" or "P1".
  2. Switching between P0 and P1: While in Parameter Setting Mode, a short press of the SET button will toggle between P0 and P1.
  3. Adjusting P0 (Timing Unit):
    • When "P0" is displayed, use the Up (▲) and Down (▼) buttons to select the timing unit:
      • P0-0: Timing unit is seconds (0-999 seconds).
      • P0-1: Timing unit is minutes (0-999 minutes).
      • P0-2: Timing unit is hours (0-999 hours).
  4. Adjusting P1 (Operating Mode):
    • When "P1" is displayed, use the Up (▲) and Down (▼) buttons to select the desired operating mode:
      • P1-0: T1 Delay Relay (T1 Timer) - The relay energizes after a delay of T1.
      • P1-1: T1 Delay Time Relay Release (T1 Timer) - The relay is energized, then de-energizes after a delay of T1.
      • P1-2: Delay Relay after T1, then Relay Released after T2 (T1 Timer, T2 Timer) - The relay energizes after T1, then de-energizes after T2.
      • P1-3: T1 Delay Time Relay Released, then T2 Delay Time Relay Energized (T1 Timer, T2 Timing) - The relay is energized, de-energizes after T1, then energizes again after T2.
      • P1-4: Delay Relay after T1, then Relay Released after T2, and Repeat Cycle (T1 Timer, T2 Timer) - The relay energizes after T1, de-energizes after T2, and this cycle repeats continuously.
      • P1-5: T1 Delay Relay Release, then T2 Delay Relay Energization, Repeat Cycle (T1 Timer, T2 Timer) - The relay is energized, de-energizes after T1, then energizes after T2, and this cycle repeats continuously.
  5. After selecting the desired P0 and P1 parameters, wait for approximately 6 seconds. The module will automatically save the settings and exit the Parameter Setting Mode.

Restart Button: The Restart button (usually a small circular button) can be used to reset the current timing cycle or restart the program, depending on the mode.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your T3230/T3231 Digital Time Delay Relay, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Display is off or dim.No power, incorrect voltage, or loose connection.Check power supply, ensure correct voltage (e.g., 12V DC), and verify all wiring connections.
Relay does not activate/deactivate as expected.Incorrect time settings (T1/T2) or operating mode (P1).Re-enter Time Setting Mode and Parameter Setting Mode to verify T1, T2, P0, and P1 settings. Ensure the timing unit (P0) is correct.
Settings are not saved.Exited setting mode too quickly. After making changes, wait for at least 6 seconds for the module to automatically save the data before pressing other buttons or cycling power.
Load is not controlled.Incorrect wiring of the load, or load exceeds max power.Verify load wiring according to the diagram. Ensure the load's power consumption does not exceed 1800W.
