4. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your robot vacuum cleaner.
4.1 Self-Emptying Base Dust Bag Replacement
The self-emptying base automatically transfers collected dust from the robot's internal bin to a larger dust bag within the base. Replace the dust bag when the indicator light on the base signals it is full, or approximately every 12 weeks depending on usage.
- Open the lid of the self-emptying base.
- Carefully remove the full dust bag and dispose of it.
- Insert a new dust bag, ensuring it is properly seated.
- Close the lid securely.
4.2 Cleaning Brushes
The main silicone brush and side brushes should be cleaned regularly to remove hair and debris.

Figure 8: The underside of the Conga 9590, highlighting the main silicone brush, side brush, and rotating mop attachments.
- Main Silicone Brush: Turn the robot over. Release the brush cover and remove the silicone brush. Use the cleaning tool (if provided) to cut and remove tangled hair. Reinstall the brush and cover.
- Side Brushes: Gently pull the side brushes off. Remove any tangled hair or debris. If damaged, replace them. Push them back into place until they click.
4.3 Cleaning Rotating Mops
After each mopping session, remove the rotating mops from the robot. Wash them with water and mild detergent. Allow them to air dry completely before reattaching.
4.4 Filter Cleaning/Replacement
The HEPA filter inside the robot's dustbin should be cleaned weekly and replaced every 3-6 months, depending on usage.
- Open the robot's top cover and remove the dustbin.
- Remove the HEPA filter from the dustbin.
- Tap the filter gently over a waste bin to remove dust. Do not wash the HEPA filter with water.
- Reinstall the clean filter or insert a new one.
- Empty the dustbin and rinse it with water if necessary (ensure it is completely dry before reinserting).
4.5 Sensor Cleaning
Wipe the cliff sensors (located on the bottom of the robot), wall sensors (on the side), and charging contacts (on the robot and base) with a clean, dry cloth periodically to ensure proper function.
