3. Product Overview

The BY-V4 system consists of four transmitters (TX), one receiver (RX), and a charging case. Each component is designed for ease of use and portability.

4. Setup Instructions

Follow these steps to set up your BOYA BY-V4 wireless microphone system:

  1. Charge the System: Before first use, ensure the charging case, transmitters, and receiver are fully charged. Place all components into the charging case and connect the case to a power source using the provided USB-A to USB-C cable. The indicators will show charging status.
  2. Connect the Receiver:
    • Locate the 3.5mm audio input jack on your camera, DSLR, or camcorder.
    • Insert the 3.5mm TRS connector of the BY-V4-RXU receiver into this jack.
  3. Power On Transmitters and Receiver:
    • Remove the transmitters and receiver from the charging case. They will automatically power on and attempt to pair.
    • Alternatively, press and hold the power button on each unit to manually power them on.
  4. Pairing: The transmitters and receiver are pre-paired at the factory. If re-pairing is needed, ensure both are powered on. Use the pairing pin to press the pairing button on the receiver, then press the pairing button on the transmitter(s). The indicator lights will show successful pairing.
  5. Attach Transmitters: Clip the transmitters onto the speaker's clothing, ensuring the microphone faces the mouth for optimal sound capture. The 360° rotatable clip allows for flexible positioning.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1. Basic Recording

Once the system is set up and paired, you can begin recording. The audio from the transmitters will be wirelessly sent to the receiver, which then feeds into your recording device.

5.2. Noise Cancellation

The BY-V4 transmitters feature an intelligent noise cancellation function to reduce ambient background noise.

5.3. 2TX / 4TX Mode Switching

The receiver supports switching between 2-transmitter (2TX) and 4-transmitter (4TX) recording modes. This allows you to choose how many microphones are actively sending audio to the receiver.

  • Check if the foam windscreen is properly attached and clean.
Transmitters Not Pairing
  • Ensure both transmitters and receiver are fully charged and powered on.
  • Initiate manual pairing using the pairing pin as described in Section 4.
  • Move units closer together during pairing.
Short Battery Life
  • Ensure all components and the charging case are fully charged before use.
  • Battery performance can degrade over time; consider replacing if significantly reduced.
Cannot Switch 2TX/4TX Mode
  • Ensure the receiver is connected to a camera/recorder via the 3.5mm audio jack. This function is only active when connected.
