Setup

1. Battery Installation

  1. Locate the battery compartment on the underside of the scale.
  2. Open the battery compartment cover.
  3. Insert the required batteries (e.g., AAA batteries) according to the polarity indicators (+/-).
  4. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

2. Placement

Place the scale on a hard, flat, and stable surface to ensure accurate readings. Avoid soft or uneven surfaces, as these can affect precision.

Operating Instructions

1. Power On/Off

  • To turn on the scale, press the ON/OFF button. The display will show '88888' then '0.0' or '0.00' when ready.
  • To turn off the scale, press and hold the ON/OFF button for a few seconds. The scale will also automatically shut off after a period of inactivity to conserve battery life.

2. Unit Conversion (MODE)

  • With the scale on, press the MODE button to cycle through available weighing units (e.g., grams (g), ounces (oz), carats (ct), pennyweights (dwt), grains (gn)).
  • Select the desired unit before weighing.

3. Tare Function

The Tare function allows you to subtract the weight of a container, so you only measure the contents.

  1. Place an empty container on the weighing platform.
  2. Wait for the display to stabilize and show the container's weight.
  3. Press the TARE button. The display will reset to '0.0' (or '0.00').
  4. Now, add the items you wish to weigh into the container. The display will show only the net weight of the items.

4. Weighing Procedure

  1. Turn on the scale and ensure it displays '0.0' (or '0.00') in your desired unit.
  2. Carefully place the item(s) to be weighed onto the center of the weighing platform.
  3. Wait for the display to stabilize. The reading shown is the weight of the item(s).

Maintenance

1. Cleaning

Wipe the scale with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the scale in water. For the stainless steel platform, a mild cleaner can be used, followed by drying with a soft cloth.

2. Storage

Store the scale in a clean, dry environment at room temperature. If not in use for an extended period, it is recommended to remove the batteries to prevent leakage.

3. Battery Replacement

When the battery indicator appears on the display, or if the scale fails to power on, replace the batteries following the installation steps in the Setup section.
