Introduction
This instruction manual provides detailed information for the safe and efficient operation of your Bonvoisin Digital Crane Scale 5000kg/11000lb. Please read this manual thoroughly before using the scale to ensure proper function and to prevent damage or injury. Keep this manual for future reference.
Safety Information
- Always ensure the scale is securely attached to a suitable lifting mechanism capable of supporting the maximum load capacity (5000kg/11000lb) plus the scale's own weight.
- Do not exceed the maximum rated capacity of the scale. Overloading can cause damage to the scale and potential safety hazards.
- Inspect the scale, hooks, and shackles for any signs of wear, damage, or corrosion before each use. Do not use if damaged.
- Ensure the load is balanced and stable before lifting. Avoid sudden movements or impacts.
- Keep hands and body clear of suspended loads.
- Operate the scale within its specified temperature and environmental conditions.
- Use only the specified battery type (3 AA batteries) and ensure correct polarity.
- Do not attempt to disassemble or repair the scale yourself. Refer to qualified service personnel.

- To switch between Kilograms (KG) and Pounds (LB): Press and hold the HOLD key on the scale until the unit changes. The display will cycle through available units (KG, LB).
3. Peak Function

Image: The crane scale in operation, demonstrating the Peak Hold function by showing how it captures the highest weight recorded during a measurement sequence.
- The Peak Function records and displays the maximum weight reached during a loading process.
- To activate/deactivate Peak Hold: Press the PEAK button on the scale. When active, a "PEAK" indicator may appear on the display.
- Example: If loads of 23.6lb, 53.6lb, and 24.8lb are applied sequentially, the scale will display 53.6lb as the peak load.
4. Hold Function
- The Hold Function allows you to save the most recent stable weight reading on the display, even after the load is removed.
- To activate/deactivate Hold: Press the HOLD button on the scale. When active, a "HOLD" indicator may appear.
5. Tare Function
- To tare the scale (zero out the weight of a container or attachment): With nothing on the hook, or with the container/attachment already on the hook, press the TARE button. The display will reset to "0.00".
6. Adjustable Backlight Duration

- The scale features an adjustable backlight duration and an auto power-off timer. Consult the full product manual (if available) or contact support for specific instructions on adjusting these settings. This feature helps conserve battery life and prevents unexpected shutdowns during operation.
7. Horizontal Pull Force Measurement

Image: The crane scale connected between two vehicles, demonstrating its capability to measure horizontal pull force, emphasizing its ultra-large capacity.
- The scale is designed with two sealed rings at the top and bottom, making it suitable for measuring horizontal pull force in addition to vertical hanging weight. Ensure proper and secure attachment for horizontal applications.
Maintenance
- Cleaning: Clean the scale with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Storage: When not in use for extended periods, remove the batteries to prevent leakage. Store the scale in a dry, clean environment away from extreme temperatures and direct sunlight.
- Inspection: Regularly inspect the scale's body, hooks, and rings for any signs of damage, cracks, or deformation. Ensure all connections are secure.
- Battery Replacement: Replace batteries when the low battery indicator appears on the display or when the scale fails to power on.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Scale does not turn on. | Dead or incorrectly installed batteries. | Replace batteries with new AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity. |
| Inaccurate readings. | Overload, unstable load, or environmental interference. | Ensure load is within capacity and stable. Avoid strong vibrations or air currents. Recalibrate if necessary (refer to advanced manual or support). |
| Display shows "OL" or "Err". | Scale is overloaded. | Remove excess weight immediately. Do not exceed maximum capacity. |
| Remote control not working. | Remote batteries dead or out of range. | Replace remote control batteries. Ensure remote is within operating range and pointed towards the scale. Remember, the remote cannot turn the scale ON. |
