1. Product Overview

3. Safety Warnings

Lithium Polymer (LiPo) batteries require careful handling to ensure safety and longevity. Please adhere to the following safety guidelines:

• Users must read and understand this safety manual before using the battery.
• Only use a Lithium Polymer (LiPo) specific balance charger for charging. Using an incorrect charger can lead to fire or explosion.
• The suggested charge rate is 0.5C - 1C. While the battery is 5C fast charge capable, charging at lower rates (0.5C-1C) is recommended for optimal battery life and safety.
• Never charge the battery unattended. Always monitor the charging process.
• Do not over-discharge the battery. The cell voltage should not drop below 3.2V. Over-discharging can permanently damage the battery.
• Do not overcharge the battery. The cell voltage should not exceed 4.2V. Overcharging can lead to swelling, fire, or explosion.
• Store batteries in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and flammable materials. For long-term storage, charge the battery to a storage voltage of approximately 3.8V per cell.
• Inspect batteries for any damage (swelling, punctures, cuts) before each use. Do not use damaged batteries.
• In case of fire, use a LiPo-specific fire extinguisher or sand. Do not use water.

4. Setup

Before using your Zeee Lipo Battery, ensure it is properly charged and ready for operation.

4.1 Charging the Battery

1. Connect the EC5 discharge connector of the battery to the appropriate port on your LiPo balance charger.
2. Connect the JST-XH balance connector of the battery to the balance port on your charger. This is crucial for ensuring all cells are charged equally.
3. Set your LiPo balance charger to the correct battery type (LiPo), cell count (6S), and capacity (5000mAh).
4. Set the charge current. The suggested charge rate is 0.5C to 1C. For a 5000mAh battery, this means a charge current of 2.5A to 5.0A.
5. Initiate the charging process. Always charge in a fire-safe area and monitor the battery for any signs of swelling or overheating.
6. Once charging is complete, disconnect the battery from the charger.

5.1 Application Compatibility

5.2 Connecting and Disconnecting

• To connect: Align the EC5 connector of the battery with the corresponding connector on your RC model's Electronic Speed Controller (ESC) and push firmly until it clicks into place.
• To disconnect: Grasp the connectors firmly (do not pull by the wires) and pull them apart.

6. Maintenance

Proper maintenance extends the life and ensures the safety of your LiPo battery.

• Storage: For short-term storage, keep the battery at room temperature. For long-term storage (more than a few days), charge or discharge the battery to a storage voltage of 3.8V per cell (approximately 22.8V for a 6S battery). Store in a cool, dry place, ideally in a LiPo-safe bag or container.
• Temperature: Avoid exposing the battery to extreme temperatures, both hot and cold. Do not leave batteries in direct sunlight or in a hot car.
• Physical Inspection: Regularly inspect the battery for any signs of damage, such as swelling, punctures, cuts, or frayed wires. If any damage is observed, discontinue use immediately and dispose of the battery safely.
• Cleaning: Keep the battery and connectors clean and free from dirt or debris. Use a soft, dry cloth for cleaning.
• Disposal: Do not dispose of LiPo batteries in regular household trash. They must be disposed of at a hazardous waste collection facility or a battery recycling center. Fully discharge the battery before disposal.

7. Troubleshooting

7.1 Battery Performance Issues

• Issue: One or more cells show significantly higher internal resistance or do not balance properly during charging.
• Possible Cause: Cell degradation, manufacturing defect, or improper handling (e.g., over-discharge).
• Solution:
  • Ensure you are using a quality balance charger and that all connections are secure.
  • Attempt a slow charge/discharge cycle at very low amperage to try and re-balance the cells, if your charger supports this feature.
  • If the issue persists and significantly impacts performance or safety, discontinue use of the battery.
• Issue: Battery swells or becomes hot during charging or discharge.
• Possible Cause: Overcharging, over-discharging, internal short circuit, or physical damage.
• Solution: Immediately disconnect the battery and place it in a fire-safe location (e.g., outdoors on concrete, in a LiPo-safe bag). Do not attempt to use or charge a swollen battery. This indicates a serious safety risk.

• Issue: Battery does not fit into the RC model's battery compartment.
• Possible Cause: Incorrect dimensions for your specific model.
